Jim Mitchell is a wonderful guide. His expertise on the river guided us to 4 different species of trout in one day!

I almost hesitate to write this review because I don't want Montana Hunting and Fishing Adventures to get too busy and not be available when I want to be toted around the beautiful Montana rivers! Every single experience I have had with this company has been Top Notch. From guiding, fishing, catching, teaching, and sharing the excitement of seeing a big Bull Trout try to eat our White Fish, to the healthy riverside luncheon, and the peace and calm of the confident and successful guides. One of my favorite things about the location of this establishment is Bonnie's Fly Shop. Bonnie is a hoot, to say the least, and she has outfitted the fly shop with the most creative items ---- many geared for women. It is about time. Go Bonnie! Looking forward to next year to see these good hearted folks and enjoy another season on their rivers.

Jim Mitchell is one of if not the best guide I have ever fished with during many float fishing trips in multiple states and four continents. His great demeanor made me feel comfortable the minute I met him and within 3/4 hour we were on the Bitterroot River and I was catching fish. Except for my 'necessary pit stops' I don't believe five minutes passed when I didn't either have a fish either chasing my flies or having one in Jim's net. Now that is catching, not just fishing, When I would tangle my line (wind knot) Jim would simply hand me another rod so I could continue fishing while he untangled the line or changed flies. I believe all fish, whether 12" or 17" were caught on dry flies before being gently released. Other boats passe us on the river but Jim kept giving me the opportunity to fish many runs and holes where fish held yet others passed by. Our 1/2 day extended beyond when any other guide would have his clients off the river and already be chugging beers and telling fish stories. Jim has a photo with me of my 17" beautiful Cutthroat. I have it in my phone but don't know how to include it in this review. Richard Wheeler

We had a wonderful day taking a scenic raft trip on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River. We were lucky enough to see a elk herd. We also were able to take pictures of an eagle eating a fish. Jim had plenty to eat and drink for us and was very attentive to our needs. Very peaceful with beautiful scenery.
