We'd never heard of Marcus Daly or his wife and were absolutely delighted with our visit to the mansion. Set in the gorgeous Bitterroot Valley, the Mansion is elegant and a testimony to the locals' desire to maintain their history and heritage. It sat abandoned and boarded up for over 40 years (1941-1984) and a local group decided to mount... More

This is a must see Montana treasure that reminds one of a southern plantation with its long treed driveway! Hopefully, you will get a guide volunteer that knows more than "this is water damage" "not sure what this is" "can't remember this person's name" "oh my, I am lost again". These statements happened in almost every room for 1 hour... More

The Daly Mansion is a must see if you come to the Bitterroot Valley. The mansion is the best way to see how people with money lived in the valley in the late 1890's. The guided tours are will worth the cost and plenty of parking. The short walk to the mansion is also very interesting. The ground are so... More

Ample parking with a great walk from lot to mansion. $9.00 fee was well worth the price. Guide was well educated on the history of the people and the mansion itself. The whole staff was very friendly.

The guide did a wonderful job of describing what life was like for Mrs. Daly at the mansion. She was very knowledgeable about the mansion and the furnishings. The story of the restoration is very interesting as well as the history. I would highly recommend the tour.

Wonderful exhibit! Guides dressed in period attire knowledgeably narrate life at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century as experienced by members of this household. Opportunity in America was wide open in the late 1890s and Marcus Daly's story eloquently showcases the wealth which could be achieved at the turn-of-the-century by hard work and perseverance. Such... More

Everyone needs to go at least once. This was my 4th time. The tour guide was so informed about the Daly family and the mansion

Drove 35 miles from Missoula. After we walked in the back door, a person informed us that it was closed. We explained that the web site and phone indicated it was open until mid October. She said sorry, but the person who handles the web and phone messages has been out. Sorry but we are closed and I don't have... More
