Kelsey (also known as "Wonder Beard") was our guide on this class II and class III adventure just north of Yellowstone. His knowledge of rafting, safety and the river were excellent -- he showed us a great time!
He was also there during the record flooding that closed Yellowstone and destroyed houses in the area a few weeks earlier.
Luckily the town of Gardiner MT is in solid shape, and rafting is open and running.
Please support the local Gardiner area, which also has great food (the "Wonderland Cafe and Lodge" was the best food of our whole MT trip!), lodging, the Roosevelt Arch (albeit Yellowstone's north entrance still closed atm), and lots of rafting.
At the end of June, which is normally peak season (but was interrupted by the earlier flooding), this treasure of a town has availability of lodging, short wait times for restaurants, and open slots for rafting. We were easily able to travel to Gardiner via roads from Livingston MT.

The horse that was chosen for me was perfect fit! Kangaroo sometimes was in the rear and sometimes near the front of the pack. Riding a trail horse, for me, was the best experience for a non-rider. We rode for 2 hours but it was a fast 2 hours. I felt the trail leaders were well experienced and I felt safe.

We were so impressed with our trip! We did the raft and ride combo package where we went on a one hour horseback ride and then up to our white water rafting trip. The weather was not great, but they gave us all the right equipment to keep us warm and comfortable and we had a great time. Roland and Colton were great at the Hells a roarin ranch where we went riding. Our raft guide Dani at Yellowstone Raft Company was also amazing. Thanks Paradise for booking this for us!

Awesome experience!
We had a terrific time with Alex and Cora. It was a cold, windy day so we ended up in our own boat. We were with amazing Alex, but we could see Cora's beefy man hands keeping her raft moving down the river! Thanks, y'all for a great trip!

When I was booking our adventure, the company made sure to explain the rafting experience and made us feel comfortable being first time rafters. Our guide, Bucky, was very informative when it came to maneuvering the raft through the water and pointing out areas of scenery and history of the area. I only wish we were told they did not have helmets due to a recent fire at the headquarters of their sister company, Yellowstone Rafting Company. Overall, a great experience!!

My family was booked for the dinner float. The confirmation email nor the receipt showed what time our float started. I tried several times to contact them and couldn’t. Finally I got a hold of someone through the reservation number. She had no clue what time we needed to be there so she would check on it and email me. I never heard from her. We were staying two hours away so we headed that way so we could be there at 3:00 to see what time our float was. About an hour into our trip, I tried calling again. The person who answered said that the restaurant was overbooked but they could still get us on the 330 float. The whole reason we booked this trip was for the float and dinner. That was very unprofessional to not notify us before hand. So we wasted time driving toward there for nothing. So if you book the float and dinner, I highly recommend you confirm your dinner reservation.

Great experience for first time rafting! Great for families with children. Prepare to get wet but have a blast doing so! Maria was a great guide - friendly and fun but always focused on safety of rafters. Highly recommend giving Paradise Adventure Company a visit if you visit Yellowstone!

First time whitewater rafting and we had a great time! We did the 8 mile trip. The guide was really fun and pointed out various points of interest and facts about the area along the river. We loved the trip and will definitely go whitewater rafting again in the future. Thank you for such a great experience!

Took the 8 mile, 2 hour trip with our guide, Summer. Was able to contact them the day before to confirm it was safe for 2nd & 3rd graders & a grandma. They guided me to the 8 mile tour instead of the scenic since the kids would've been bored (they were right!) Booked online. Everyone had vests & water shoes, swimming in cold river for those interested, and safe for entire family. Great Yellowstone experience & see Mammoth Springs on the way back. Thanks Summer!

We did the “scenic float” at 3:30. A great booking experience! My messages were promptly answered and I was excited to get added to a float for the next afternoon. The float itself was very beautiful. Our “oarsman”, Blake, was personable and Fun. More importantly, he was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, wildlife and had some interesting stories. Next time we may have to try the whitewater!
