The theatre along with the entire town of Fort Peck was built by the US Army Corps of Engineers in the 1930's as part of building Fort Peck Dam. In its heyday, of the mid 1930's movies ran around the clock to entertain the workers. The Theatre is now a Historic Landmark and is now owned by the Fort Peck Fine Arts Council and has live performances on weekends in the summer.

We stop by the theater every summer with our friends from plentywood and catch a show. The plays are pretty awesome. Grab a fudgesicle during intermission. Get your tickets early or show up 1/2 hour or so before the show to get seats in the lower theater. We sat in the top balcony row once and it was fairly warm.... More

I grew up in Ft Peck and grew up with the theater. My kids have now grown up with the experience of live theater as well. The Fort Peck Theater was built in the 1930's when the damn was being built. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. Five different plays are performed during the summer Friday -... More

Holy Smokes!! Out in the middle of the plains in Northeastern Montana, next to the Fort Peck dam is an Authentic 1930's theater that offers the most amazing talent. We took the opportunity to enjoy the musical play "the Last 5 Years". The actors were Courtney and Daniel Crary,a married duo from Brooklyn NY. The voices, the acting, expression and... More

The play we saw was The Best Little XX in Texas - good job done by all of the actors! In addition to the play the setting was amazing. It was amazing to see all the detail of the construction - & it was done in the 1930's as the rest of the dam construction was ongoing. We would recommend... More

Camping and summer theatre! What a great combination. Show time was 7:30 and we saw "Biggest lil %$&*# house in Texas" Not sure that is correct but you get my meaning. Great place to be on a rainy night with friends.

I love old theaters and this one has a ton of character! It is very nice to see, and they work very hard on putting on great productions. I have enjoyed my visit every time.

Just had a "mommy & me" day with my oldest son who took me to see Shrek at the Fort Peck Theater as a belated Mother's day gift. Shrek was good, don't get me wrong, but there was something off-putting about his mask and we had a hard time understanding everything he said/sang. Fiona - in all 3 stages of... More

My husband, friends and I enjoyed this musical. The talent was over-the-top! We enjoyed front row seats and worried about our choice of seats when we realized there was a speaker RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! No need to worry ~ the sound was PERFECT!! Talent from all over the USA and Montana brought to life this production. And the... More

We truly enjoyed the Music Man this past weekend. Highly recommend it to all ages. If a child has the attention span to sit for 2 hours they would enjoy a front row seat. Love to see the expressions on the actors and actresses faces. Plan an over night stay, hotel and plenty of camping.

Every year the theatre puts on amazing shows with unbelievable talent! The rustic look of the theatre is beautiful! The seats are small and wooden without padding, so bring your own cushion if possible or rent one for $0.25. There are usually 5 shows throughout the summer, with shows on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. A must see!
