We wanted to try something different and unique and selected this wonderful sailing experience on Flathead Lake. Our charter captain for our afternoon trip was a lovely, charming young man who has sailed all over the World on all kinds of boats and he made this trip perfect for us with his interesting travel stories. Very safety conscious and as much (or as little) time for us to practice sailing techniques. The lake is still a little cold for me right now, but we were also offered the option to take a dip and swim in the lake if we wanted. We would highly recommend this experience especially if celebrating a special occasion as we were welcome to bring our own cooler with adult beverages.

I might be hooked on sailing! Captain A-Aron was amazing. Experience professional and it feels like you’ve been lifelong friends. He has sailing stories from around the world and makes you feel comfortable turning a sailboat around on a dime. A-Aron Gracefully coached 4 ‘salty’ WOMEN simultaneously to do some basic maneuvers. We rotated spots, succeeded, forgot to do things or turned the rotor the wrong direction and it was all good. So many laughs!! We all thought we were pros when we walked off the boat at the end of the day. Of course before you get on the boat there are a few basics to learn.Tying knots and learning the different parts of the sails and learning how wind direction is crucial in how a dial boat functions. I will be back to practice my race boat techniques!!

I attended ASA 101 + 103 combo with my husband Aug 2023 with instructors Chad and Jon. Both had very different but effective teaching styles. We came with no sailing experience and feel they helped us get to the point to enjoy participating in recreational sailing and with a good foundation to learn more if we want to expand our skills. One instructor recommended taking time between the classes to allow the learned material to sink in, go sailing outside of the class with what was learned, and then take the next class. I can see the advantage to that as I think the experience between the levels would have allowed Jon to teach more. They covered the material in the course plus anything else we could absorb that they thought we were ready for. I would highly recommend these instructors and this program. If I need any other certifications that they offer, I will be returning to get them from Go Sail Flathead Lake. Thanks Chad & Jon!

We had an awesome charter tour on Flathead Lake. We spent the afternoon with a very charming young man who was extremely safety conscious and allowed us to do as much (or little) sailing as we liked. The sail boat was an awesome option to a motor boat as it was peaceful and quiet. You can bring your own cooler with adult beverages if you like. We did our charter in the evening but
I understand they also offer morning & afternoon charters as well.
Overall highly recommend for something different to do on Flathead Lake.

Captain Genevieve is absolutely phenomenal in her knowledge and how readily she shares her insight. My husband and I want to build more confidence and skills in sailing our boat and asked Captain Genevieve to help us. She provided us an incredible lesson. She carefully listened to us for what we wanted out of the lesson. During the lesson, she offered direction and helpful hints, Last year, for our two day lesson Genevieve had us learning from Captain Aaron. We love Go Sail Flathead Lake and highly recommend it.

Five of us including two grand daughters (ages 14 and 12) enjoyed a wonderful afternoon day sail aboard a Capri 22 in 8-10 knots of easterly breeze, sunshine, other sailboats, and gorgeous scenery. The boat was stable and quick to respond to gentle changes in the wind. The staff were very friendly and helpful at the dock and back at the office afterwards. I look forward to sailing with Go Sail Flathead Lake again. Many thanks!

Great experience with ASA sailing certification courses! 101 keelboat sailing with Kristie Hepburn, and 103 Coastal Cruising with Captain John Barlow. Our crew of 4 were together in both classes. Kristie was very thorough with keelboat training. Captain John was great in the classroom and also on the water with his vast experience. I sailed many years ago and this experience was a soul healing for me, being back in action on the water again. I have a warm spot in my heart for Captain John for his intuitive kindness and also for cracking the whip as captain, coaching us to better our best :-) What an awesome 4 days!

I took the ASA sailing 101 and 103 class with Captain Bob and Captain Jon! Both classes were amazing! The knowledge that the Captains brought to the table was impressive! Thank you both for 4 days of fun sailing and I can’t wait to take the 104 class! I also want to shout out to Captain Genevieve and all her staff! They made the whole experience fantastic!

Did this tour with some friends on Sept 2. It was a very low wind day, but Our captain/guide Greg made it work! He was friendly, professional and had a great sense of humor all while being able to teach this group of novice sailors the basics and a bit beyond! If you have any interest in sailing, or simply want a nice day on the water- we’d highly recommend! 5 stars!!
