Even on a warm, sunny day, there is lots of space and quiet on this beach. It's a short walk downhill from the car park and a lovely location - a mix of sand and pebble with rock pools and caves. Ideal for all the family, but the downside is that parking is very expensive (£5) if you are not National Trust members - fortunately, we are!

Penbryn Beach is a lovely location to go for a walk. There is a National Trust carpark that costs £5 for the day or is free to Members.
There is a steep walk from the carpark to the beach. If you need a wheel chair or a pram to push children it is difficult, particularly when going uphill back to the carpark.

Lovely walk through the woods from the car park to the beach- lots of stairs! Beach was beautiful with two caves. Proper sand and clear water.
Near the carpark there is a small carpark, cafe and toilets. National Trust Members park free.

A beautiful rugged beach. This beach has beautiful soft sand and is very picturesque, there are also some lovely rocks at the far end of the beach. The beach is quite exposed to the wind, so make sure you dress appropriately. For parking there is a National Trust car park about 200 metres from the beach. It is free to park for members, otherwise it is £5. There is also a lovely NT cafe at the entrance to the car park.

Amazing beach. Very picturesque and quiet. Almost too quiet lol. Beautiful rocks and caves to explore. We went down thinking we would just have a look and the weather turned out so nice we decided to stay for a few hours. Hidden gem.

Small, quiet, beach with no amenities other than a cafe near the car park. There is a 400m walk from the car park down to the beach although cars can drive down the lane to drop off people and their belongings. A perfect beach for dog owners.

I used to visit here whilst on holiday as a teen. Beautiful, clean beach. One of my favourite beaches actually. I've spotted dolphins here a few times. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is purely because if you're disabled and aren't able to have anyone drop you at the beach before they go and park, then walk back down to you, you won't be able to visit. The walk back to the carpark is too much for someone with physical disabilities.
Overall though it's a lovely place.

A very beautiful beach run by the National Trust.
This is a gem of a beach and well kept as you would expect by the Trust.
It was busy at the time of our visit but the overflow car park was able to cope.
The only disappointment was the number of dogs allowed to do as they will if not looked after. I understood that they were not allowed during the summer months so this was a big surprise.

Big sandy spacious beach that never felt overcrowded. It’s a steep but tarmaced road down to it. Plenty of parking by the Plwmp Tart and the overflow field.
We ordered packed lunches for the kids from the Plwmp Tart to eat on a shady spot at the beach.
Sea was calm and shallow for young children to play in. So good we did two days in a row, and again later in the week!

Dog friendly to the right. Car park at top of hill free to NT members. Good cafe and toilets at top (nothing at beach itself). 5 min walk down to beach (road easier than woodland steps). Beach a lovely mix of golden sand ; lovely round pebbles. Couple of little caves to the right & at low tide another beach to explore to the right.

What happens if I take my very well behaved, healthy and friendly dog onto the beach?
Written July 21, 2019
Just had confirmation from NT that dogs are allowed on the right hand half of the beach (as you look out to sea). NT only own the left half.

I'm really wanting to visit this beach with my tien boys. But one is disabled and unable to walk more then 100 meter. As I will be on my own as disable badge holder able to park close to the beach where the turn around point is? Thanks :)

Why cant the national trust provide better parking so we don't have to walk over hal a mile to get to the beach?

What's wrong with a little bit of a walk is not far and good exercise

Why don't the National Trust allow me to walk my well behaved dog on this beach?
Written May 27, 2018
Dogs are only banned from the beach from May to Sept. This is because the dog owners who don't pick up after their dogs have spoilt it for the rest of us. It's unfortunate, but there are fantastic coastal paths in the area, although be aware they are quite dangerous for dogs who like to jump into bushes after wildlife...there are steep cliffs in many places.
