Standing in front of this museum you will probably think: not worth to open this door. But what a mistake is that!! This is fantastic. Not because of the local things you will find in any small town museum, it's like every were else. The...More

This museum is a great way to get to know the area as well as take a trip back in time. It is a large museum, that includes multiple buildings, including a one room school house, farm/ranch machinery from past decades, and so much history!

We decided this would be a good spot for a midday stop to stretch the legs. Thought we'd spend about 15 minutes here and then we discovered what a rare find this was. The room you first walk into looked like just a bunch of...More

This is one of the best small town museums I have visited (and I've seen quite a few). There are several outbuildings (e.g. one room schoolhouse) and outdoor displays of old vehicles and farm equipment. The shell collection is amazing. As I was the only...More

We used to live in Broadus and we volunteered here. It is a treasure in a town that you would not expect something of this quality. Check it out and see some real Montana history. Mac's Museum (within the museum complex) is amazing. You will...More

Free to everyone, you'll be greeted by friendly volunteers. Don't miss the one room school house and Mac's Museum in the lot behind the main building. Love the egg, seashell and insect collection.

This little stop in Broadus is the best historical museum I've ever visited! Fascinating collections, well labelled and documented, and incredibly knowledgeable volunteers. We were warmly greeted as we entered and given a personal tour by a gentleman who had lived in the area for...More

You would not expect anything so magnificent in a backwater like Broadus, Montana. The exterior gives no clue as to the absolute gem that lies within. The volunteers knowledge is amazing. Twyla, Jean and her amazingly gifted 14 year old grandson Jaeger were an absolute...More

This museum is not at all what I was expecting, and that is a really good thing! This is not some fly by night roadside attraction. It is a legitimate museum with something for everybody. Everything in the museum is meticulously labeled and cataloged. It...More
