Downtown Bozeman is quaint but offers everything you would want - western city with shops, souvenirs, restaurants etc. There are a few pubs/breweries which were all nice to stop in and try some different beer that you may not find at home.
It's small enough that you can walk from end to end. We stayed at a hotel on the main street and it was very convenient to be able to walk around town.

Enjoyed walking around this area for a few hours. Many interesting shops. Couple of the art galleries had nationally known artists with outstanding work. We ended the afternoon at one of the bars on their back patio overlooking a stream. Great way to end the visit.

It is an attractive downtown at first glance, but when you go shopping around, the higher end stores seem to be the norm. A nice smattering of restaurants and bars, do spend a couple of hours wandering around. My wife thought it was great, but she loves to shop. Just seems like it’s missing some of that old Western charm. And the bums hanging out do not add to the charm.

After leaving our hotel and heading for the freeway we decided to check out the historic downtown before heading east. What a pleasant surprise! At 9:30 in the morning the town was bustling and many people already out walking. Loved the old buildings and just the feel of this town. So many interesting shops to browse. Wish we could have lingered awhile but heading to the east coast and needed to get on the road.

Things are quiet now with stay at home orders, but usually downtown is lively with many a fine selection of bars, restaurants and shopping all within a short walking distance. Plus there are new hotels going up where you can walk to everything. There is everything you need here with the buildings dating back to the 1800s. Don't forget to take in a show, play, musical, opera or whatever is playing at the historic Ellen theater.

Downtown Bozeman is a blast from the past with a touch of contemporary thrown in. A mix of retail, restaurants and bars. Summertime on Thursday’s is Music on Main which is a must attend good time.

1st time to Bozeman, as we came for the Kenny Chesney show, and we were very impressed with the city and especially downtown Bozeman. Many of the historic brick buildings have been preserved and there is truly something for everyone here. Ton's of quaint shops, restaurants, breweries and distilleries, great place to stroll on a sunny day.

We liked seeing the downtown area. But there was not enough parking. So trying to stop & stop in at any business anywhere was difficult. Plus delivery trucks were parked in the streets, so traffic was stopped and hard to get around...
People were friendly though.
Do go visit "Pete's hill". When you walk up to the top, the view was great!

Coming to Bozeman directly from Cody, Wyoming (and thoroughly enjoying their quaint and fun downtown) I was really looking forward to walking downtown Bozeman. But I wound up being very disappointed because the vast majority of the stores are the "froo froo" type. If anybody knows the Twin Cities (Minnesota), then you'll get the comparison when I say Bozeman is like Edina, but what I wanted and was expecting was Stillwater. Other than a good ice cream place (Genuine Ice Cream) and a couple bars, it was all just a bunch of stores for women with purse dogs.

We came into Bozeman two days before a Road Scholar tour of Yellowstone. Made one fatal error- we did not get a rental car for the two days! We did use Uber 3 times. On the second day we went to the downtown 8 block area, which contained many's different stores, from tee shirt to high end art and jewelry , breweries and just about every type of food you could want. We found the employees of all places we entered to be helpful, friendly and pleasant to deal with , even if we bought nothing. They answered questions and provided information on how to get to what we wanted. It was an enjoyable experience and we would certainly return.
