My wife and I booked the Bozeman ranch tour and picnic (rather than one of the Livingston-based hiking trips). Dennis, the proprietor, was really attentive to our preferences and helped sculpt the right kind of experience for us.
We were able to spend some time visiting with the baby llamas (and cute dogs) and feed the herd some alfalfa pellets, then we made our way over to the male llama pasture where we chose our llama guide for the day, helped brush them and put their special backpacks on, and then go on a hike to a picnic lunch in the nearby public land.
The llamas are so cute, quirky, and charming. It's a uniquely compelling experience to walk the trail with them. Dennis is really thoughtful and engaging. He set out a beautiful picnic lunch selection, and we had a great time talking to him about llamas and his experience as an outdoorsmen.
I highly recommend visiting the Bozeman llama ranch for a fun and special excursion. It's great for families or adults looking for a novel activity.

We cannot say enough amazing things about Montana Llama Guides. We had a ranch visit for our family and had the best time. Dennis is so informative, engaging and just a pleasure to chat with. We learned so much about llamas during our ranch tour. Our daughters (14 and 16) had a ball. We are still laughing at the llama's playing "king of the hill!" We are looking forward to booking next summer for a hike and fly fishing experience. We highly recommend this experience!

We went on an evening hike and had an outstanding time! We saw the llamas outside of the lodge the evening before and after being able to visit and pet them, we decided to book a trek. Our guide Noah was very friendly, great with children and knowledgable about the history of the area and the llamas. The llamas were kinda stubborn but he teaches you how to get them to cooperate with you and by the end of the trek we were all in love with our llamas and wanted to come back every day of our trip. It was definitely a highlight!

Out of the blue the operator called and canceled our booked trip 3 days out from the event. The reason given was that they were overbooked and couldn’t accommodate our reservation, even though we had made it over a month out. I am on a cross country trip relocating my family to the west coast and this was an event we were looking forward to. I could understand if the reason was for insufficient participation (which is listed as a reason the trip may be canceled in the receipt) but I was told that they are just too busy with other guests around the area to honor a booked reservation. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Awful experience dealing with them and terrible customer service.

AMAZING! What a fun experience for the entire family. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids ages 14-8. Dennis was friendly, entertaining & educational. Definitely recommend a ranch tour. Can’t wait to come back and do a hiking/camping tour with you all! Thanks again!

We took a family vacation and stayed in the Livingston area. Just happened to run across Llama hiking by accident and thought this would be something different. Dennis was very accomodating for my family as I only wanted it to be our group (No kids). We did the Sundowner hike and it was marvelous they thought of everything right down to the Table Cloths, Real napkins and dinnerware Champagne and I wanted a bottle of wine and Dennis was sweet to have it ready for me. Noah was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and very laid back. This was one of the highlights of our trip and I am so glad that we chose this area to lodge and stay in while visiting Montana and Yellowstone Park. I would love to do one of the overnight hikes I could only imagine it would be just as great. Thanks again, Dennis and Noah you guys Rocked it.

Had a great time on the ranch tour. The staff was wonderful and accommodated us last minute for the ranch tour. Everyone enjoyed learning about the llamas and interacting with them. If I am able to go back to Montana I will definitely book a hike with the llamas. I wish I had time to do it this trip!!!

I found Montana Llama Guides on Trip Advisor. I contacted Dennis in the spring and set up a date and time we would be passing through. Dennis was great to work with and a great guide. We used this as a stop from from Glacier to Yellowstone. My kids thought it was a memorable experience. We did the one hour tour which included many photo ops and llama souvenirs and it was the perfect amount of time. The scenery was perfect. Would highly recommend if in the area

Had a trip of a lifetime with Montana Llama Guides! Our 4 day mountain adventure was full of beautiful scenery, great fishing and great fun. Dennis and Steph made us comfortable and of course the llamas were full of personality! Would highly recommend this adventure. Go see places you will never see!
