About
Yellowstone Cellars & Winery has been handcrafting classic French and Italian style red and white wines since 2010. All of our grapes are hand-picked and sourced from family-owned vineyards located in the Yakima Valley of Washington. We believe that these are some of the finest grapes grown in the Pacific Northwest, if not in the United States. Great wines have to start with great grapes! We transport all the grapes back to Billings 13 hours after picking, where we crush, de-stem, ferment, barrel age, and bottle, all on-site at our winery. Our focus has always been on the winemaking process and letting the Terroir of the grapes shine in our finished wines. We are proud to be a family-owned and operated business with deep Montana roots. We love to share our story and passion for wine with everyone who walks through our door. If you're in the area, feel free to visit our Tasting Room and sample any or all of our wines. Cheers, Brandon & Sarah Owners/winemakers

We are part of Harvest Host and want to say a BIG thank you to these folks at the winery. We needed an overnight stay last minute and they graciously helped us out. Sarah was a wonderful host! Great wine was the cherry on top!

We chose Yellowstone Cellars & Winery based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The wines are made from the grapes from Washington & we were allowed to sample any that we wished (along with cheese & some cured meats). The service and level of welcome that we received was absolutely phenomenal. Great time, good wine - who could ask for more? Highly recommend!

We had a delightful tasting experience on a busy Saturday afternoon, including an extended conversation with the owner, Clint Peck. We enjoyed all of the wines, and found them drinkable and reasonably priced. The business model is a little different from most of the wineries we are familiar with in California. Here, the emphasis is not just on the wine, but also on the social experience, enhanced on some nights with entertainment. And you certainly won't find a tasting room in California that stays open until 9 P.M. on weeknights and 11 P.M. on weekends. All in all, we were pleased with the experience, and impressed with the wines.

We went here to try some Montana wines. Advertised wine tastings. Not really a wine tasting, but would let you sample any of their wines. Wines were okay, not memorable. Since the "tasting" was free, we bought a bottle to take home. Most wines between $20--$30 a bottle.

I’m sorry the tasting wasn’t to your liking. We do try to offer a different experience than a typical winery you might find in CA or OR. If you visit on a busy weekend, a formal tasting can de tricky for us to accommodate. Thanks for visiting us!

we found ourselves looking for someplace to spend our last day of vacation. Just a five min. drive from downtown -- was comfortable, friendly, and served nice wines. We really enjoyed it.

Went for the first time early afternoon for a late lunch with a friend. Wonderful wine and conversation as we had the place to ourselves for a time. Brie with berries excellent, smoked salmon on flatbread excellent and I love their Summer Blend white.

A severe storm was approaching when we arrived at the winery. The owner of the winery came out and instructed me to drive around to the side of the building and pull my car into their wine tasting area through their garage door opening. I was shocked when he asked me to do this, but they proceeded to move tables and chairs out of the way to make room and instisted that I pull in so that my car would not get hail damage. Not only did they do this for me, but they also gave me a free membership to their winery. I was blown away by their kindness, generosity and great tasting wine.

I was a little confused when I was told to visit the Yellowstone Winery in Montana but what a fun place. This is not really a "tasting room" but they make and sell the wines right there. We had just come from dinner so were not interested in food but they make pizza and have a meat and cheese tray. You can taste their various wines then purchase by the glass or bottle. We were lucky to stop by on Friday when they had live music, what a treat. Had we not been flying home tin the morning we would have purchased a few bottles. The two staff members who do everything, were wonderful, helpful and very friendly.

We absolutely loved the wine here. The reds are all excellent and they have a nice Chardonnay too. The tempranillo was divine. There wasn't a single wine that we didn't like. I went in thinking I would probably only want a bottle or two but walked out with a case!! Actually, it's probably the best wine we've ever had at a winery. The winery is small but comfortable. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm sorry that we had to miss it. They serve deli food such as cheeses, meats and flat breads, etc. Sharon was extremely friendly and educated about all of the wines. We enjoyed talking to her and a local who was there, Mike. The owner Clint Peck was welcoming and was interesting to talk to. He took us on a short tour and explained the wine making process and told us other interesting facts that we didn't know about the process. We ended up staying longer than we had expected and we had some good conversation and an enjoyable time.
