This is a small zoo that has been upgraded considerably in the last half decade, largely due to a terrific zoo Director. The zoo is a meandering walk through the woods, over a creek and bridges, with a couple of path options. It features an outdoor stage, covered events area, playground, and numerous special events. Yesr-round passes are available and... More

Zoo Montana is a nice little zoo on the west end of Billings, right off I-90. It focuses on the animals of the American West, so you'll find grizzly bears, bald eagles, otters and wolves. You can also get nose-to-nose with a couple of Siberian tigers and some red pandas. The zoo is small, so don't expect the San Diego... More

Doesn't really compare to zoos in the big city. But if you have a few hours to kill and a kid to entertain definitely worth the admission.

Great little local zoo with unique animals of the local and global variety. Well maintained walking paths and a great sensory garden. Interactive center and gift store to satisfy old and young alike. This is a very family-friendly zoo. We decided to get the yearly pass and it paid for itself in less than 4 visits. Have an hour? Great place to take a walk. Have an afternoon? A great chance to really study a particular animal. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and obviously care for the animals.

The zoo is a great family activity. The scenery is great and the animals are fun to watch. The grizzly bears are our favorite to watch.

Thank you for your visit and great review! Those grizzlies are great! We are currently holding 4 of them, 2 cubs that were orphaned, a Yellowstone "trouble" bear and a large male that was "privately" owned and seized. They are some goofy critters! We look forward to your next visit. Jeff Ewelt Executive Director ZooMontana More

Nothing special about the zoo but as with all zoo's it is nice to see the animals. Bengal tigers were really nice to look at. Road in and parking lot need so much needed repairs.

Thank you for the visit and review! We like to think we are different from other facilities due to our natural layout, large expansive exhibits and unique approach to how and why we choose our animals (45th parallel only and animals in need). So the tigers are Amur tigers, or Siberians, native to the northern reaches of Russia and China.... More

I really enjoyed taking my parents to the zoo. I would have to say that mornings is the best time to go during the summer.

We have always loved the Montana Zoo! Recently got to attend a birthday party for my niece. They have a separate birthday building with a play area and the cost was reasonable and allowed entrance to the zoo all day. The kids LOVED the time we spent there. We got a special presentation in the barn with the big draft... More

The zoo is located in a beautiful setting, and is an enjoyable 45-60 minute walk. There is some construction going on, but overall, we had a nice walk around.
