Bitter Creek Outfitters is a family-operated business providing scenic, guided horseback trail rides on the outskirts of Billings, Montana. We'll treat you to a leisurely trek through the Montana countryside - atop the area's distinctive rimrocks, through ponderosa pines and fields full of wildflowers, mule deer and wild turkeys. We'll show you spectacular views of five different mountain ranges and a unique perspective of the city. AGE, HEIGHT/WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS APPLY. PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR DETAILS. We are a full-time ranch, part-time trail riding outfit so advanced reservations are required. We do not keep our horses saddled in the corral & ready to go! If we don't answer the phone, we may be out on a ride or working so please leave a message. Season runs late April thru October, weather permitting. We schedule our starting at either 8 or 9am, 7 days/week, and avoid afternoon rides during peak summer heat but we can be flexible with your travel plans. Let us know what works best & we'll do our best to fit you in!

My two hour trail ride at Bitter Creek Outfitters was a great experience! Everyone I dealt with was off the charts friendly and so understanding. Smokey was/is a gorgeous horse and great ride. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Hope I can come back again one day!

We had such a great experience at Bitter Creek Outfitters! This was our second time going and both of our trips were GREAT! This most recent time we went with our kiddos (ages 1, 2.5 and 4) and they had an amazing time. It was so fun for them to sit on the horses while they were led around, especially... More

If you want a feel of the great outdoors of Montana, this is the place to go. Theresa was kind and made you feel at home exploring her family's beautiful land. You see rock formations, animals, and other incredible views on the ride. Definitely a great activity to do with friends and family.

Bitter Creek Outfitters was a great experience! My son and I did a 2-hour trail ride on the last day of our trip to Montana. It was a fantastic way to end our vacation! Everyone we meet in Montana was nice, but this family was off the charts friendly and so welcoming to their ranch. Our horses, Smokey and Cracker... More

It was my wife's life long dream to go horse back riding in Montana. I booked us a two hour ride. It was everything my Georgia peach dreamed it would be. The scenery was majestic. The horses were smooth as silk. And our guide was informative and super friendly.

Our family enjoyed a great horse ride as a break to our long road trip. Our teenage daughters had a fun and memorable experience. The views were breathtaking and the horses were easy to ride. I enjoyed the stories and history of this beautiful land. Our guides were friendly and well prepared. I plan to return again!

We had a beautiful relaxing ride. The horses were very well behaved. The guides shared the history and stories of the area. I was sad when the 2 hour ride came to an end.
