We visited Boot Hill Cemetery in July 2016. It is a very small, simple exhibit which took about 5 minutes to see. The hill overlooks an unattractive industrial area, so we were a bit disappointed.

There are two historical points of interest in this cemetery but it's no Tombstone in terms of visitor appeal. There's also a lot of long grass. (The lawn mower was invented in 1830 - Billings City needs to buy one.) If you're staying nearby, allow five minutes to look around. but don't go out of your way.

On the outskirts of the main town, on a hill and interesting. Several stone markers, but mostly metal crosses. A little history of the cemetary is given at the entrance.

I grew up on a little farm just next to the Boothill Cemetery. Today, it offers not only great personal memories, but also a living sense of Montana's past. Perfect place for a summer afternoon, or any other time of the year.

While in Montana we had to stop by this historic battlefield on the drive to Wyoming. Amazing to learn more and see where the actual battles took place.

If you are staying or visiting near downtown Billings or near the MetraPark arena, stop in at the historic Boothill Cemetery. It is located on the back side of the Rimrocks overlooking Applebees Restaurant. Boothill Cemetery, on the National Register of Historic Places, is a quick, free, stop. Boothill served as the cemetery for the town of Coulson, a town... More

I finally checked this out last month. If you aren't looking for it, you'll miss it despite it being nestled between two of the busiest roads in the Heights. The cemetery is behind Applebees and is a very small patch of land, littered with little head stones (seemed to be 50-100 at most), the rock sculpture and a plaque for... More

You have to do it--visit the Boot Hill Cenetery. This is a great part of Billings and Montana history. It is also a very cool place to visit with a great view of the City. Check out the newish bike trail that connects with this location. I stood there today and all I could think was how privileged that I... More
