The hike back to the falls (1.6 miles round trip) is not for the squeamish. The falls are exceptional site but be prepared for lot of up and down trails to see the water show. Well worth the trek but not a leisurely stroll.

If staying anywhere near Big Sky, look no further than Ousel Falls to break up your Yellowstone excursions! Beautiful falls and lots of places to sick and eat a packed lunch.

This hike is popular and crowded for Big Sky but very much worth the climb. The falls are really beautiful and the trail is very well marked. We hike it every year.

This short trail takes you through beautiful scenery and the waterfall is beautiful. It has some steep areas, but with the fact that it is well maintained, truly most people could walk this. I highly recommend that you go and enjoy this stunning surprise!

This was a beautiful little hike through the woods on a nice trail to a pretty water fall. I think there were some picnic tables to have lunch, which is a great idea for next time. Excellent way to get outdoors and in the woods...More

This was a nice short hike to the bottom of a hill to get to the falls. The hill was a little steep, even though there was a switch back.

Less than a mile from the trailhead at the park to the falls. Well groomed trail is all downhill to the falls, so the march back up is aerobic, especially on the first day at altitude. There is a 2 mile flat trail from the...More

This trail was pretty easy and short (about 0.8 miles one way), very well maintained and paved throughout, and the waterfall was beautiful! We didn't have a lot of time, but wanted to do some hiking and this was perfect. With all the picture stops...More

This was a fairly short and easy hike with not too many ups and downs. Good walkable trail. It's accessible and the parking lot is plenty large. We didn't see any ousels, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

Yes there are bears! Whoever said there weren't is....nuts! Of course they hibernate during the winter, but don't hike ANYWHERE around Big Sky without bear spray. Be sure it's current, ready to fire (out of the package... More
