Our Yellowstone Zipline adventure park is also located here at our Gallatin River office near Big Sky Montana. You can choose to do a Classic 2-Hour Zip with 3 lines or a Super 3.5-Hour Zip with 6 lines and more adventure elements. Introductory Fly Fishing Classes. We had a wonderful time doing rafting and zip lining. On the rafting trip we really appreciated that we were assigned a very senior guide of 23 years experience since it was one adult and three kids ages 14 11 and 8. The guide got us through some pretty narrow places perfectly every time and made it look easy with a minimum of effort even though the river was quite low. On zip lining the guides were experts and made sure everyone used their masks since the quarters were very tight. The company uses a church camp ropes course that is 5 minutes away from Gallatin office. The raft bus trip was quite short as well which was very nice.

Of all the activities that I planned for my family during our week in Big Sky Montana White Water Rafting was BY FAR the most tremendous value! What a great way to bond with the family & enjoy the beautiful river! I couldn’t help but laugh & smile as I was traversing through the river while getting blasted with water. You ever have such a deep laugh it comes from way down in the gut? Well, this river rafting trip brought out the truest & deepest laughs our family has shared in many years. My face was literally hurting from all the smiling I was doing. The pictures turned out very professionally and will be cherished for years to come. Our captain was Tom. He immediately put us at ease with his calm demeanor and take charge expertise. He was very personable and you could just tell that he loves what he’s doing. That kind of exuberance is infectious. He watched my mother-in-law like a hawk and just as she was about to be ejected out of the boat he reached over and grabbed her! THAT’S the kind of guide you need when you’re entrusting your life in someone else’s hands and these are the kind of employees Montana White Water hires! I can’t recommend them enough!

We did the Zip and Dip with the More Adventurous and it was AMAZING. We had 4 kids and 4 adults and the guides were awesome, they told great stories and kept us focused, laughing, and safe and the overall crew from check-in to bus drivers, booties, vests, helmets were all top notch. Totally recommend using Montana Whitewater

They put the 2 of us with 9 others on the Zipline. We barely fit on the small round platform and it took a lot of time with so many people. They also allowed a 6 year old, who was crying and didn't want to go and had to be talked into it. I don't think they should allow anyone below the age of 8 unless they can go together in tandum with the instructor/tour guide. There were only 3 lines, and I felt it was too short and you need at least 5 lines to really enjoy this. The tour guides, however, we very good and very helpful.

Our apologies if your trip experience was not what you were expecting. We do offer some great videos on our website to check out the full experience before you book a tour. Our Classic zip tours do hold up to 12 guests per tour. The platforms are elevated in the air and can be close quarters at times. We do offer private zip tour options if you didn't want to zip with other guests. For the most part the young kids are stoked and up for the adventure but, of course every child is different. We don't kick kids off a tour because they are hesitant but, will are always willing to lower people down if they choose not to finish. Glad to hear the guides were great and helpful. Please check out our Super zip tour next time. This is a longer 6 zipline tour and is geared toward guests ages 12 and older. Come see us again!

We (four of us - ages 58 - 62) signed up for a half day white water rafting adventure on the Gallatin River (level I- III). Our guide was Barbo and he was fantastic! He knew the river, kept us entertained with his stories and made sure that we all got wet, but no one fell out of the boat. This organization is well run, clean and professional. I highly recommend to others.

We did a 2 person kayak; I recommend doing a single person kayak as it is easier to maneuver. They supplied the necessary gear: helmet, life vest, wet suit, and boots. The office will hold on to your keys so they don't get wet; keep everything else you don't want to get wet in your car. Our guides we very helpful with giving us safety tips and how to maneuver at certain points of the river. I recommend doing the kayak over the boat if you want more of a hand off experience. The only kayaking experience we had was from kayaking in Bozeman on a lazy river a few days prior. We went on 9/19/20; the river wasn't flowing too fast but there were parts of the river where the water sped up and there were a lot of waves. The water was very cold as well, as I was knocked out of the kayak when we hit a wave going sideways. Not a big deal, just grabbed on to the kayak, floated on my back with my feet up until we could get to the bank and I hopped back in (shows how important to listen to your guides and read all the safety sheet).

I've been on a lot of rivers, but this was definitely the smoothest operation that I've seen! We did the more challenging trip, so there was additional gear needed (wetsuits and/or splash tops). They provided clear instructions and the issuing of the gear went very smoothly. We had plenty of time to bring stuff back to our vehicle before getting helmets and lifejackets. There was no time pressure like I've grown accustomed to feeling in other places. They tightened up the straps on everyone's lifejackets to make sure it was a good fit. My only recommendation would be to check the helmets fit as well or at least provide some basic instructions on how it should fit and how to adjust it. I helped my daughters to find the proper size helmets and get them adjusted correctly.
The riverside safety instructions were short, but effective and covered all of the important topics. Our guide, Becca, was outstanding! She made introductions and continued to engage everyone in conversations throughout the trip. She ran us through some rafting basics and we were quickly underway. She was very experienced and knowledgeable. She also did a good job of watching out for the other rafts and pulled over to wait for them as needed. She did a great job of talking everyone through the important parts of the bigger rapids. It was clear that she was having a lot of fun and that added to everyone else's enjoyment.

Our guide Nabin was commanding, in control, and a great leader at helping us navigate the rapids with precision and focus. Barely making it between boulders while fighting through rough waters and then maneuvering easily over more shallow areas made this a nonstop adventure my son and I will always remember. I definitely recommend this rafting trip to anyone looking for an intense and fun adventure.

First time whitewater rafters. Concerned about the trip’s description being a class 3 or 4 but we went in Sept with the lower water levels. They say that it is really just a 2 or 3 that time of year. It was one of the funniest things done on the trip for my 15 year old son. He and my wife both had a blast and Montana Whitewater were friendly and very organized. Would definitely recommend to also get the photo package (an additional $40 to $50 for the full package for all the action photos).

We booked the full day fly fishing learn and guide in April for our September vacation . An extremely rude woman called me the week before we were to arrive to cancel our reservation. When I answered the phone she informed me they were canceling our trip with no explanation. When I asked why, she told me there was no water in the river…….REALLY?!?!Luckily I was able to call around and book last minute with another company. I was informed by multiple companies that there was in fact water in the river and that Whitewater did me a favor by canceling my trip. They seem to have a bad reputation in the area. I would stay far away from this unprofessional establishment.

We truly apologize for the cancelation of your trip. Due to the drought conditions in Montana in July and August the decision was made to close the fly fishing shop after Labor Day weekend. For our staff to relay this information incorrectly is unacceptable and we are sorry. We are happy that you were able to book another excursion for your trip and hope you will visit Montana again!

We have $50 for our family of four. Class 5 rapid and our guide worked with us to make sure we have fun and excitement but no one flipped out of boat despite some challenging water!

What level rapids did you do? My boys will be 10, 11, and 13 next year when we go. They've never done whitewater rafting before, but are very comfortable in water and have done lots of kayaking. Debating between Class 2-3 trip or Class 2-4 trip. Thanks!

We did the class 2-4. The younger kids got out of the boat before we entered the class 4 section. I am guessing this was for legal reasons but I am unsure.
If you are planning on going big and running the class 4 Rapids you may want to ensure that your kids are lod enough to participate. It would.probably frustrate them to get out before the good stuff.
For what it's worth, I got plenty wet in the class 3 section. Some of the other boats ran the same after and didn't get nearly as drenched. I think the key is getting like minded people in the same boat and letting the guide know that you want to play hard.

They give you wetsuits booties and splash tops. Also life jakets and helmets. Under my wersuit I wore my bathing suit. If your going zip lining wear closed toe shoes and comfy clothes. You can wear shorts but you'll have a harness over so you'll want them to come down to about your knees. There's a little bit of a hike to get to the zip lines. About two 10 minute hikes.
