- Flyer533163768952 contributionsPacked like sardines and murky seaNo free space on the beach at all. There are sun beds all over the beach packed like sardines, music blasting from all sides. The sea is no better, full of boats, pedal boats and floaties. The sea is actually very murky and nothing at all like in the photos, even early in the morning. You can't relax at all with beach salespeople offering you stuff all the time. The majority of the umbrellas are impossible to close and there is no space to move if you want shade/sun. Not cheap either, 24 euros for 2 sunbeds (you have to take both). I spent half a day here since there was no other option to have a swim but never again. Avoid this area of the coast if you can help it.Visited July 2023Traveled with friendsWritten July 7, 2023
- Guilherme S1 contributionEpic pictures, but...It was hard to get here from Tirana, I highly don't recommend, very old minibuses, if you are lucky to survive the 5 hours journey, you still have the risk of get tetanus. Dont even try to fasten your seat belt, you will be surprised. Once you get there, you will be delighted with the amazing views, huge beach clubs and the atmosphere of the place, however when you get down to the beach you will realise that there is no beach, you will be surrounded by umbrellas and sunbeds, actually it was not an unique felling, I cant describe it, but I felt that already when was travelling at the London Tube, hang on, I know what I felt, claustrophobia, and have to pay €30 for a pair of sunbeds and an umbrella to stay confined in a narrow piece of sand brought me another feeling, fool.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 10, 2023
- Connector032289570901 contributionBeautiful beaches. rude people. high prices. I don't recommend it.The beaches are very nice and the water is clean, but there are too many people on the beach. the climbers are very close together. if you want to lie on the beach, you have to pay for a lounger, as all beaches are private. The prices of deckchairs range from €20 to €100 for 2 deckchairs and an umbrella. Many sunbeds are broken. When I said that my deck chair was broken, he assured me that it was fine and left. People are very rude, especially to women. The prices are very high, especially for Albania. Octopus in salad €18, pizza €8, salad €9. If you want to rent a jet ski, the price is €120 for 1 hour or €60 for 30 minutes. I do not recommend it, as there are many other hidden corners where the people are friendlier and the prices are normal.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 1, 2023

If you want to visit, go in May or OctoberRuled by rude, disrespectful people. 1 million people on top of each other, for a family of 4 you need to pay 10€ on parking for them to walk for 20 min to find a free spot and pay 40€ on sunbeds. Water its awful due to the amount of people and tons of boats 3 meters from the shore. Restaurant overpriced, amunities like bathrooms disgusting. - Harryjane99Hertfordshire, United Kingdom4 contributionsTake money for loungersBeautiful coastline, massively busy in August (which is when I have to go away) but from other reviews, much more pleasant off season. We drove to Kasmil from Sarande (the last kilometer took about 20 minutes) There were no signs for parking, and nothing listed on Maps. When we came off the beach at the end of the day we saw several large, half empty carparks very close to the beaches. The sunbeds are packed in very tightly with barely any space to walk between, let alone put down a towel, therefore, your only waterside seating options are the sunbeds. Some are owned by the hotels, but it's not really clear which (we just got settled and we're asked to move on!) The next place we tried wanted around £40 for two loungers for the day, but then we walked a little further round and found a raised platform with loungers and an amazing view for £12 for two beds all day. There was a great restaurant right next to us serving all the usual fare at reasonable prices.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 8, 2023
- Bernhard LVienna, Austria240 contributionsOne of the biggest disappointments ever!!!Ksamil and its beaches are the next example of the negative consequences of overtourism. The only thing that counts is making money - fast and without considering the impacts of building one new hotel after the other. Let's face it: Even if they were not that crowded, what would the special of those beaches be?Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten August 19, 2023
- Klaudia T1 contributionDo not fall for it. Bad service, extremely rude people, unexpected prices, no regular receipts, no prices listed !Most of bussiness there is directed by bandits and uneducated rude people! Even the Albanians stay out of this place. Do not fall for it like we did. Very unpleasant service, beautiful sea but often smells bad like black waters of hotels drowning in the sea. So insecure with such people around!Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten August 22, 2023
- Michal B1 contributionOverpricedWater is amazing . The rest is highly overpriced . Sunbeds around 20 euro per 2 . You cannot just sit there on your own towel. Small 330ml beer - 4 euro . Mattress on the sunbeds in terrible condition. If Albania planning to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe ( here is a big potential) they shouldn't overcharge tourists and care more of them because you.can easily go to Spain Italy or Greece for the same pricesVisited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 14, 2023

SAY NO TO DISCRIMINATION!!!
Here on this beach we have encountered the greatest kind of discrimination based on national, ethnic and religious affiliation.
We were on vacation on summer time in 2021.
Although most of the sunbeds were free (they were not booked and there were no towels on them), we were not allowed to use them.
The staff told us that we could not use the sunbeds, nor book for another day, because we are not Albanians, and we were not Muslims.
They issued them only to Albanians. That is why when Albanian tourists came, the staff arrogantly told us to get up from the sunbeds to give them, even though we were the first to come and want to pay, and the sunbeds were not reserved.
I think that the government of Albania should make sure that this does not happen to foreign tourists, and prevent such discrimination against foreign tourists like us!

Nice place but too crowded. Everything was quite expensive on albanian level, for example sunbeds 1500-2500L, daybed 70€ per day, witch is a lot of money anywhere for a day bed. Nice beaches, but not what expected in photos. Local bus to Ksamil was way too full, not a chance on high season time to get there by bus in the morning.

Travelers choice 2021? You must be kidding me. There’s no public beach in Ksamil, if you want to stay here, you are forced to rent a sunbed for 10 eur per 2 ppl/day. What kind of nonsense is that? I have never visited country where all beaches are paid, and honestly, Ksamil is lovely but it has nothing worth paying that much for used, dirty sunbed on a crowded beach, surrounded by crying children and noisy nouveau riches who come to riviera to show off.
If you want to discourage people from coming to Albania, you’re on the best way to achieve it 👍🏻

I took the local bus, for 100 lek, from Saranda to the Ksamil town center. From there it is a short walk down the hill to a beautiful place to lay for a while.
There were beach chairs, set up, and while I was there for the full day without a charge, I am told that the chairs are usually with a fee, but since it was not yet high season I got lucky.
Highly recommend this beach!

The beaches here are great, mainly for the clear warm water for swimming, but I was surprised at the price of renting umbrellas and sunbeds (1000 lek - more expensive than dinner in the town!) and disappointed as there is always at least one or more of the beach restaurants blaring the music out as loud as possible. I realised after a few days that it was normal to have loud music everywhere but I would have prefered a quiet beach, difficult to find here. As for the sunbeds, on arriving at the Ksamil beaches, if you turn right instead of left on the waterfront, Stela beach has better value sunbeds at 600 lek per day...

Decent beach, one of several within the area. Some areas still under construction getting ready for the summer season. You will be charged for the use of sun beds etc. Each beach area has at least one bar and/or somewhere to eat. Sand quite gritty and seawater is cold but beautiful.
