You can do so much here. There’s a covered are you can reserve with charcoal grills. A great park for the kids of a variety of ages to play. Baseball fields for team play or practice.
Trails leading out to the caves to explore the beauty of nature surrounding. Adventure awaits!!
A dog park with 2 areas for large and small (under 40lb dogs) to run and play. The only downfall is the gravel and when it has rained, the whole area is a mess. Also a lot of visitors that don’t clean up after their pets, even though pickup bags and a can are provided.

Lots of places to climb and play, including a cave to explore. My kids didn't want to leave when they were young and they still want to go there whenever we visit. Now my daughter takes HER kids there.

The Cave Hollow Park in Warrensburg has been carefully planned for easy access to these outstanding rock formations. The main path takes visitors directly to the largest out cropping of rock (cave) and has several nice places to sit and enjoy the views. For the more adventurous there are some mildly challenging paths in the area that sometimes seem to lead no where, but can take visitors farther into the ravine where the caves are found. The park is part of the Warrensburg softball fields area and has a nice picnic area next to the parking lot. We've held class reunions and family get togethers here and it gives the younger members a fun way to enjoy the events.

this could be such a nice place if people had more respect for public property. when we went there people had just threw empty bottles and cans everywhere. it looks like public works tries to keep it clean but can't keep up with the people who don't care

Cave Hollow is a delightful hour or so's worth of exploring paths that lead to caves, up wooded hills, etc. It's pretty cool, and we go fairly often to walk. It's definitely not mind-blowing, but it's cool.
Lots of dogs, families, and the occasional group of ruffian teenagers. There is some spray painting and pot-smoking action that goes on here from time to time, but it's definitely a safe stroll for the family.

This is a nice place to go for a stroll. The walk is wide enough for 2 people so you can talk and walk. My daughter and I go for a walk here every time I visit her in Warrensburg.

This was always a fun, out of the way, unspoiled place to go when we were kids, and they have left it largely untouched except for trails. There are shelters at the entrance, and it's shady and nice.

I realize that maintaining a park system is expensive and involved, but it is a shame to have a park with so much potential, and to have it be so sub-par. The park has several features, including baseball/softball fields, a dog park, a walking trail complete with caves and picnic facilities. It used to have great sand volleyball courts but those have been turned into the dog park. I can only assume that decision was based on usage rates, but with Warrensburg Park N Rec one never knows. The scoreboards at the ball fields are never operational, either because of mechanical failures or lack of scoreboard operators. It seems that no attention is paid to the walking trails and cave area which could be greatly enhanced with minor beautification efforts. I am sure I don't see everything that goes into operating and maintaining this park, but I did work in grounds maintenance for 15 years and it is clear that this park could be a much nicer facility and more used by the public if it were. I would say the vast majority of the citizens of Warrensburg are not even aware, or have never been on the walking trail to even see the caves.

Yesterday my wife and I took our dog to the dog park located in Cave Hallow. It was a great place for our West to run free and enjoy this city creation. Thank you Warrensburg.
