The state park is beautiful. And the Fisher Cave tour was great. The guide was knowledgeable, and the price for our family of 5 was much better than the nearby Meremac Caverns, where we would have paid three times as much.

We backpacked Wilderness Trail. We left on a Tuesday afternoon and set up the tent along the way at one of their campsites. Wednesday morning we packed up and hiked back to the campgrounds. Wilderness Trail was easy to follow with a few neat sights. The park has a cavern that tours are given through. I would highly recommend doing... More

I've never been disappointed with a visit to Meramec SP. Visitors come for a variety of reasons: hiking, camping, picnicking swimming, etc. I come to enjoy the geology, geography and the birds. Birding here is very good, especially in migration or during nesting season. The excellent roads, trails and parking areas give good access to a variety of habitats. The... More

There was 5 adults, and 5 children from the ages of 7 to 12.. They have a rule that kids under 8 they wear life jackets through the whole float which is the best thing I've ever heard! Kids had a blast and we all had a blast! They had a cave 1/2 that wasn't closed and we all got... More

The msin station has a neat history museum. Also a 1.25 mile trail right behind it. We hiked the trail w our 4yo and it was easy enough for him. A little muddy in slots and has a cave steam if you take the left fork at top of hill. Would rate better if sinage for park started earluer so... More

We were traveling through to the western national parks and made reservations here. Quiet, pretty and I wish we had more time to explore the trails and caves.

Clean park. The picnic facilities were even clean which is often difficult with the turn over of people. We had a good camp site wished it was by the river but hey it was what it was. Would go back again.

Just got back from a day at Mermen State Park. Can you believe it - December and 70 degrees, WOW. The park is well maintained with a nice trout stream. The park has adequate bathroom facilities and a good general store. If you go to the trout hatchery you will find trout by the 1,000's. They release the grown trout... More

I met a tired friend from St. Louis at this park and we rented a little cabin for few days. The cabins have a great deal of historical charm. Though old, they have everything you need Ours had a stove top and microwave, but no oven in case that is important to you. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, but... More

Having grown up here I have always considered myself lucky to be a stone's throw away from such a beautiful place. One of the best campgrounds in the state, but book early it can be hard to find a site in summer.
