I visited this place on a Tuesday afternoon. There are several collections/exhibits, largely from area residents. It definitely exceeded my expectations for not having an admission fee. They even offer classes for kids and adults. It can seem a bit sparse, but worth a visit!

Springfield's Art Museum offers a variety of on-going exhibits from their permanent collection, as well as many special exhibits throughout the year. Watercolor USA (during summers) is always worth an extra visit. Cool. Relaxed. Inspiring. Offers an activity area for children. Great place to spend...More

It is a great place to go and look at art. I saw the watercolor and veteran show recently and was very humbled by the military photos and inspired by the watercolor art. Staff was very friendly. A nice place to go.

The collection is small, but well worth a visit. I arrived an hour before closing and the staff described the exhibitions perfectly so I knew which I wanted to visit.

I had to write a paper for a class and had a wonderful experience looking at such a variety of artwork. From different time periods and the use of different mediums. It was well worth the experience and I would highly recommend travelers to go.

This is a small, quality museum. I especially enjoy the watercolor offerings each year. They have many high-level exhibits that would appeal to many different people.

Coming from St. Louis, this art museum is a step up from a country fair with the addition of some true pieces of clothing, flags and rugs from the 1800's--but that's about it if you're looking for anything historical. No offense to those who have...More
