Pokemon has taken over

We went Pokemon hunting and we were there half the day for what we thought would be a short trip before heading home. Beautiful park and very easy walking trails.

This park offers so much to the Springfield community and visitors. My personal favorite is the Japanese Stroll garden. It's well worth the small admission price of $4. Other great features of the park are free. There is the hosta garden where my son held his wedding, a rise garden and a butterfly garden. Probably the most visited aspect is... More

Our roadtripping family of four plus dog make this beautiful park a regular stop when we're passing through Springfield. Locals are already hep to it's charms, but this is a perfect FREE, DOG-FRIENDLY place for out-of-towners to take a stroll or a run, admire the lovely gardens, and get a little exercise. Although it's overrun with "Pokémon Go!" fanatics just... More

This park offers a lot besides the Japanese garden there is also a garden club, a butterfly house, and much more. The garden club has done a wonderful job of planting around the park. A new and modern playground for the kids plus some historical buildings. Part of the bike trail runs through that will take you as far as... More

This is one of my favorite parks! I have never been to the Japanese stroll garden as there is an extra fee for that but I love to take grandkids to this park. We usually take the trolley ride around the park then get off and have a picnic, go for a walk, visit the butterfly house, play on the... More

This park is gorgeous, huge, and great for all ages. There is a beautiful walking trail around a "lake" and there are play-sets throughout for stops for the kiddos. This is a paved trail so it's good for strollers, runners, etc. If you want to switch it up, there is a botanical center that's okay, but does have nice restrooms,... More

A beautiful park. Picnic lunch at a clean table. The butterfly house was so neat. Beautiful place and blessed to have been able to enjoy it.

One of my favorite places in Springfield... Especially for taking pictures with the kids. So many trails, beautiful gardens everywhere, constant updates and improvements to the grounds. You could spend a whole day there and still discover stuff you had not seen yet. Beautiful all year round!
