Met my fiancé there so of course it's wonderful! But seriously, there are a lot of really cool things to see and do there. Be sure to check out the Naturalist's Office and the old Mill. There are also a couple of good hiking trails. I hear the fishing is good, though I'm not an angler myself.

This is a great park for trout fishing whether you are a beginner or an expert. The park and area to fish is pretty big and stretches 5 miles inside the park and then you can fish outside the park as well. Cabins are small and basic but nice and camping area is well maintained for RVs and tents. Inside... More

Oh My , what a wonderful park to stay at. You can tent or RV and fish and swim , stay in a cabin. Trout fishing is the way to go. I can not say enough about the workers and the host of this park so friendly awesome and the park is so well kept by all.

We have been going to Montauk since i was a baby. Missouri State Parks has a real gem here and I hope it continues to stay that way for generations to come! Having said that, please remember to LEAVE NO TRACE! Look it up if you don't know what that means. Now that I'm older I realize how important this... More

We stayed at montauk for a night while taking a float trip. We got one of the newly renovated cabins and it was wonderful. We were able to cook our meals in the kitchen and the bathroom was very nice. Plus, we had just come from a dump of a place that we were supposed to originally stay in.

We like to go here to trout fish because it is the closest trout park to our home. Pads are gravel and unfortunately full hookups not available except for campground hosts. Still a nice relaxing scenic place to visit.

Love going to the park grew up there. But the lodge food and staff has really went down hill. Someone should build a restaurant near park that cares about customers because they don't because they know it's the only place around! But must go for the park it's self

Been coming for 40+ years to Montauk. The stream is much more native, and park much more quieter than other parks and areas around Missouri, unless you're going off the grid. Just top notch! Fish the "flat rock" up from the damn, its about as cool as it gets. JL

I have been coming here for my entire life. I have seen the park transformed from a quiet place to a sold out everyday campground. If you don't have reservations do not attempt to come here without. The lodge has been taken over by a resort company that knows the service and the food don't matter because its the only... More
