Nice Hike
Apr 2021
This trail tries to fool you with its two mile length. This is no easy feet. Be ready for up and downs and moderate inclines!

Great short hikes

Amazing views right here in Missouri. I did not realize there were such great hiking trails this close to St. Louis....definitely worth the day trip!

Hiked the Pickle Creek trail
Feb 2021
What amazing rock formations and waterfalls! Absolutely breathtaking. It's not an easy hike, especially when covered in icy snow, but it was well worth the effort. Took us 1 1/2 hours with stops for photos and checking out the ice formations. I would like to go back in the spring when the waterfalls are flowing. Lots of people out even in the cold, so I imagine it's pretty crowded on a nice weekend.

One of THE best short hikes around the area!
Nov 2020
I always stop by for a hike when in the area because so there are many different topographical features condensed into such a small area. Everywhere you turn it's something new and different even tho the hike is just under 2 miles long. The trail is better marked than the last time I visited; not only w/ the typical red arrows but also white marking on the trees to keep you on course. This is a hike where you should definitely wear hiking boots, lots of slippery sand, leaves, roots and rocks & boulders. Maybe even a hiking pole as it goes up and down the canyon a few times so be prepared for some steep inclines. The bluffs and water features are wonderful! If one doesn't lolly gag, plan on the hike taking about 1 hour; longer if you spend time checking things out. Definitely bring a camera or phone to take pics. Due to Covid, when the parking lot is full, no more hikers are allowed so keep that in mind, no overflow parking allowed.

Great rock formations
Oct 2020
This is a unique property, having rock formations not common to the state. Great hike, not too difficult. Saw many families with young children and dogs; so it is a great place for the whole family. Many viewing opportunities along the trail. A must see for Missouri hikers.

Fun and Challenging Hike!
Oct 2020 • Friends
My friends and I came here and did the hike with some light rock climbing. I’d say it’s intermediate with some large rocks to scramble over if you veer off the path a little bit. But if you stay on the path, the grades aren’t too bad going up or down, but the path has quite a few rocks/roots to watch out for. In the fall, the leaves can be slippery! On a Sunday morning it wasn’t too busy, but by the time we left at noon it was getting pretty full. We saw a lot of families doing the hike together so it’s a good place for that.

Hike through Pickle Springs
Sep 2020
Great hike, beautiful day. Busy on a Saturday. Some folks didn't follow the one way hiking, which makes it challenging when trying to distance during pandemic, but absolutely stunning. Would be a challenging trail to do for individuals with physical limitations, small children, etc. Lots of narrow passageways, rock climbing, steep(ish) inclines.

Gorgeous!

This is a little gem! Better than some of the state parks. really enjoyed it. Hiked for an hour, super pretty, lots of things to see. Please see pictures including trail map. Trail is well marked, small white signs with red arrows and white painted squares on trees/rocks.
