Hawn State Park is one of the loveliest parks in a system full of lovely parks. Clear, sand-bottomed streams, wild areas ripe with orchids and awe-inspiring views combine to make Hawn a place that Missourians treasure. Geology buffs love Pickle Creek for the number of exposed rock types. Hikers frequent the Whispering Pine Wild Area for its quiet trails with expansive views. Bird watchers flock to the park for its variety of birds. And there are plenty of quiet spaces for people to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

I absolutely love hiking in this park, it's beautiful and can be a little challenging in places. I highly recommend the whispering pines trail which is 9.75 miles.

Stayed in the campground in a 30 ft travel trailer. Nice level pads for RVs. Many shaded sites. Unfortunately, our site was in the sun....temps In the 90s....hot. Still, this campground is clean and well kept. Kids playground. Shower house was nice. Trails are clean, well marked, with nice views. Friendly park staff.

I've hiked all of the trails at Hawn and there are many to choose from, from one mile in length to ten! Some of them aren't as well-marked as I would have liked. Still, there are adventures a plenty with creeks, cliffs, and wildlife.

Nice small & intimate camping ground. We camped mid week so the campground was very quiet. There was only about 6 other campers. Campground is nice & level & some of the sites have the creek behind them. Showers & restroom was very clean. We hiked the Pickle Creek hike. It was only about 2 miles but could be a... More

My family and I love this park. It's well maintained and clean. We discovered it by chance on a road trip a few years back and now we go because it's a lot of fun.

We always look forward to our Hawn Park adventures. The park is always clean and most people clean up after themselves thankfully. The trails are well maintained and the sceanry is delicious.

Beautiful spring day. Cool and sunny. Had 3 and 5 year olds, we walked a 5 mile trail. Crossed Pickle Creek without anyone falling in. It was a great experience. My grandsons really enjoyed it. Packed a lunch and they played on the park equipment then headed home. Wonderful exhausting day.

We hiked the 'Whispering Pines Trail' during a very nice and sunny March day and it was just splendid. What a great park, the nature is beautiful! During the hike we saw some pretty large raptor birds and had a close encounter with an armadillo. The Whispering Pines trail is not very difficult, but at some parts (especially at the... More

The campground roads and pads are all asphalt and in good repair. Tall pine trees surround the campground and a stream runs along one side. This is a very relaxing place to spend a night. Campground host was very congenial and offered lots of information about local attractions.
