Beautifully located with an expansive view of the rolling hills from the wall of window and terrace. However, you are not allowed to bring your own picnic because they have so called food service. I would normally be ok with. However, they are really hurting themselves with this policy. We were a group of 7 and decided after we saw that there was only one person in the kitchen to stick with appetizers to share. After all, you can't really screw up cheese and crackers. The food was just ok but nothing special. The crab Rangoon was soggy and the food was brought out as it was ready. My real issue is that in this beautiful, impressive winery with a stunning view, we were handed tiny Styrofoam plates and a stack of the cheapest possible cocktail napkins. It felt really weird. There was no thought in the presentation, just food on a plate. We ordered several different cheese and crackers and had to pass around the one cutting board we were provided because the cheese and crackers were just on a plate. The owner was running around frantically, but we had to go to the bar to ask to order food and more wine. No one ever came by the table to see if they could get us anything. They need to hire experienced servers and a cook or chef that can present the food with a little fare if they are going to continue to offer food. Otherwise, they need to let people bring a picnic basket as long as they are willing to purchase the wine and stick to what they do best - wine making. If you go, enjoy the view and the wine, but skip the food. There other local wineries that allow you to bring your own food or have a real restaurant.

Wonderful scenery and beautiful tasting/dining room, but the service was aloof and inattentive (with the exception of the very friendly greeter in the shop at the entrance). Also, the local wines we tasted, especially the Nortons, seemed very off (though were moderately priced). Not sure thsi winery will merit a return trip.

Attended a wedding this month, All parking and drives are gravel, kind of hard on the high heels. Really nice gift shop, we waited there until time to move downstairs for the ceremony. Lovely but seemed unfinished and a little rough around the edges. Though the venue provided a table for the wedding cake (made by family member) they forgot to mention they would not be providing plates and silverware. (Huh?) Sending the family scrambling out to a store in the middle of the reception. They were also a little weird about counting plates and trying to charge for extra guests (there were none) even though there was food leftover . . . hmmm. Staff was friendly and bartender was competent. Food was . . . meh. Chicken overcooked, pasta dish sort of flavorless, beef was tender and well seasoned. The room was large with plenty of area for dancing, etc. I think the upstairs big lounge or deck would be nice to visit for tasting and enjoying wine in front of the amazing view. Might give them another chance, but would not book a large party here at this point in their growth.

We had dinner here last weekend and it was amazing. The food was really special and the steaks divine - the chicken and pasta as well. Took home lots of leftovers and enjoyed the dinner twice. The view over the vineyard and pond was nice.

We stopped by on a Saturday about 5:30 and were impressed with the very nice building. When we entered, we had to wander around looking for the bar area since there wasn't anyone there to greet guests. Once we found the bar, we were ignored while the person behind the bar helped the only 2 other couples there. After about 10 minutes, began to wander around some more to see if I could find out if they served dinner or just cheese/crackers/snacks. I did actually find another another employee after a good bit of looking. She referred me back to the woman at the bar and also told me that I needed a reservation. When I returned to the bar, my husband had grown weary of being ignored and was ready to go. We will not be going back. Ever.

We were yelled at by the owner within the first five minutes of being there for walking by the pond on the property right by the main building. She said it was a liability. Ha. But owning a winery isn't? I would think if you don't want people to walk near your pond, don't have one right there, or put up a fence or sign. They were incredibly rude about it. Also, the railing is falling out of the deck sides all the way around the place and was not blocked off. Falling off a side of a decrepit building seems like more of a liability than walking near water. Our friends had already ordered food so we had to stay. The food was just okay. The beer was Schafly, so it was good. Our waitress was very friendly. I think she felt bad about how rude the owners were. I read on the website later that children are not allowed, which is likely we we were treated so poorly. No one mentioned that though. Also, no food or pets are permitted. It was fairly empty on a beautiful Sunday, so I'm guessing this experience was common. We will drive a few extra miles and go to Charlesville or Chaumette like we usually do from now on. Sooooo disappointing.

Six of us came in around 5:30 pm and while we were doing out wine tasting, we told the owner we would like to have dinner in about an hour. At the time no one was sitting in the dining room. When we sat down at our prepared table we were told that it would be a while before we could be attended to because they had 3 smaller tables that had reservations that would be taken care of before us. Well after over 30 minutes we left.

I only saw the owner, one cook and one server here the whole time.

I try to give the local guy a chance but to put it quite plainly the service here SUCKS! Takes forever to get served and food is mediocre at best! Very rude snotty wait staff who make stupid excuses for their god awful service, don't waste your time or money! Go to another winery, there are plenty others!

Winery wouldn't do a tasting as it was "Burger Night", but nowhere on their website was this mentioned. One would assume a winery, when open, would do tastings. Isnt that what a winery is for? Obviously this one is not interested in getting their wine out as they also didnt have an obvious area where you could see their bottles. They were more of a restaurant and gift shop.

First the winery is beautiful, the bldg. well-maintained, the restaurant quite elegant. The wine was very good so we had no complaints about that. Now for the negative ... the food was HORRIBLE! I have never had restaurant food as bad as this, some close seconds, but nothing this bad. None of us liked our dinner so we opted to take no leftovers. Enough was enough!
