This is simply just a really nice park, but huge. A great place for a stroll, to relax, and to enjoy various activities taking place.

This park is huge. It's a great place to go walking, running, or biking. It's also a great place to walk your dog. There's a ton of neat little shops and restaurants nearby, as well.

We were renting an apartment just blocks away from Tower Grove Park and enjoyed biking there. There are actually two sections of the park, bisected by a busy street. Although we only biked one section, exploring both would be most enjoyable. The park is well...More

I ran a 5k race on the 4th of July. It was great. The park is really very nice about 1.5 miles long and plenty wide. Trees, flowers, grass, squirrels, birds. The maintenance is excellent. Even has concerts weekly in the summer.

Piper Palm House/Tower Grove Park (4 Replies)
We saw that they were having a Titanic anniversary brunch here on April 15th and thought we might do that and then tour the park. We do like Victorian homes/gardens and wonder if someone has other similar places to recommend. We are in St. Louis for the first time, arriving Thurs. 12th and departing Tues 17th. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I would certainly recommend the Lafayette Square neighborhood, which is not far from downtown. Brunches at Piper Palm get good reviews in general. Maybe you could tell us more about your interests, dining preferences, where you are staying, etc. so we can guide you a bit.

If you need to rely on public transport, the Central West End (depending on location) is probably best. The train (Metrolink) in St. Louis is not comprehensive and only goes to certain areas. Lafayette Square and Soulard are neighborhoods near downtown with lots of dining choices, Soulard especially has a lot of bars. It would be a short cab ride downtown from there.

Free Splash Pads around St Louis? (1 Replies)
I'll be in St Louis this weekend with my young children. I know it's going to be very hot and it appears that many parks have water features to play in. Could you recommend your favorites or let me know whether there are any around Forest Park area? We are planning to start the day Sunday at the zoo and would probably like a spray park somewhere to cool off in the afternoon. I am aware there are ones at Tower Grove Park, the Botanical Garden, and the City Garden. Also seems there are...More

Your list sums up the ones I know of. CityGarden's are lit at night. It's especially pretty with the surrounding buildings like the Civil Courts building lit up.
