The building might be beautiful but the people inside are the opposite. Come on city people, we all know it’s true. Most of the employees (not all, some are great!) at City Hall don’t know their job or laws, & don’t seem to care one bit. Condescending tones right from the moment you speak to most of them. Like we are bad customers when in actuality we are the boss. We need to clean house & big time. All across OUR America.

On an architectural walk through downtown, and this one certainly stood out! We were able to go in after temperature checks and security checks. Still operating as City Hall so we kept that in mind and didn’t wander too far. The age and style of the building is phenomenal to see. Probably my favorite in the city.

Very Interesting Architecture

My wife and I stopped at Saint Louis City Hall while walking around in downtown and taking pictures. Unless you are taking pictures or appreciating the architecture, this place is probably not a destination for you. Since it was a Saturday, we did not attempt to go inside.

Looks cool but not clean

Looking to take pictures? you may see the building and think it would be great, but the years of grime need to be cleaning off and the homeless people sleeping in most doorways could be a deterrent to visiting. The DMV and other offices inside are efficient. Hourly parking isn't too bad but I wish there was a 30 min free pass for doing business inside.

i have never had a good experience or a nice worker experience at this place in over 30 years. it will never change. but the building always looks good and so do the floors.

Nice building in downtown STL...

This is a good looking building located in the heart of downtown, not far from Union Station. The building looks from the outside like it could use a cleaning, and it could but the interior is beatiful. Marble stairs, plenty of wood, high ceilings, could easily be found in Europe. Check out the board of alderman meeting room.

What a beautiful historic building right in the down area, near the arch. The interior is spectacular with marble, iron railings a fantastic ceiling. If you enjoy old buildings, don't miss this

This is one of the oldest buildings , looks like no other style building in the saint louis area . Large darker building I could look at it all day . They just dont make buildings like this anymore . Looks like it should be in ancient europe

very cool architecture
The exterior is very cool looking. It reminds me of a haunted house. The interior is a bit shabby and rundown looking though.

Its, well, city hall.

Its more appealing architecturally than something built in the 70's, but its functions and frustrations are the same for anyone at any city hall anywhere else in the country.

Also, I'm not sure why the only picture here associated with city hall doesn't actually show city hall. That's the old courthouse folks.
