The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial includes the park on the Mississippi River, the Arch, and the Courthouse just across I-44 to the West. It is bordered on the North by the historic district that is actually where old St. Louis existed and where the Eads Bridge, the first bridge over the Mississippi, still stands. This center of St. Louis is... More

The Gateway Arch is a must see in do if you are visiting St. Louis or if you live in the area and have never been. The grounds and museum are under construction at this time, but going up in the arch and viewing the movie on the construction of the Arch are very well worth your time.

The Gateway Arch currently has a lot of construction going on, but the ride to the top is still the same with a great view of the city and surrounding area. A must see for out of town visitors!

Last stop on our way back to Chicago from Texas. The Gateway to the West and the Courthouse where Dred Scott and his wife filed for their freedom from slavery. The verdict was over turned by the Supreme Court stating, blacks that were slaves or descendants of slaves were determined not to be American citizens and therefore they had no... More

We were lucky in some ways that the weather was stormy because there were no queues to go up to the top of the Gateway Arch - such that the pods in only one leg were needed It was well worth the experience to see over the city even if the place did look a bit grey and dreary

The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park, aka The Arch, is normally a five star attraction however, it is undergoing a major renovation. Hence the low rating. My most recent visit was quite disappointing. The museum is closed and the grounds are a mess. As a result, It is HIGHLY recommended that you wait until the major renovations are completed the... The Arch is located in the middle of this park. Be sure to take the time to stroll along the walkways and enjoy the amazing upgrades that are taking place. This Park is located behind the Old Courthouse and borders the Mississippi River. Large grass areas. Tree lined walk ways.

The grounds around the Arch are under construction, and nowhere close to being finished. You can park on Sullivan Blvd or try for a nearby side street or ramp if you want to pay. The theatre is open.
