When I saw this was the 25th best thing to see/do in St. Louis, I just had to write a review, because that is an absolute travesty (its also the problem with TripAdvisor, but that's another story). Jefferson National Expansion Memorial is the technical name for the St. Louis Arch. Yes, THAT arch - the famous one that symbolizes the... More

We would have like to see more but it was under construction. Also no nearby parking, good thing our hotel came with a shuttle.

There is still on going work to complete this park that extends to around the base of the arch. It is a beautiful park with seating and lots of trees. The view of the park from the top of the arch is not to be missed.

Though the plaza between the Courthouse and Arch was under renovation, we did get to see the Courthouse itself. I am amazed about how detailed buildings were built. Wish they still built them with so much character. Very neat to teach my kids about Dred Scott and see how courtrooms used to look. Some of the rooms were temporarily housing... More

They are doing much construction around the arch and the parts they have done do make for a better experience. The museum is currently closed but some of the exhibits have been moved to the Old Courthouse as well as the ticketing center for the trip to the top of the arch and the arch gift shop. It is important... More

Seeing the arch is not just a history lesson. Even though the park is still under construction the arch is open to go to the top. Suggestion would to go up on one side and down on the other. Best to go on a clear day for the view

If you've ever wondered what it was like to be a pioneer and cross the tall-grass prairie and the Great Plains to get to the west, this is the place visit! When you see the actual covered wagon it will help you understand what our ancestors gave up in packing for the trip. So many artifacts and they are fascinating.... More

There is plenty of construction going on around the Arch, but it is still operating, taking folks to the top if you're interested. The Old Courthouse is a must for anyone interested in the trials and tribulations of not only Lewis and Clark, but also the general public who undertook passage to the Pacific Northwest. The Old Courthouse is free;... More
