This was the first time we had been to the plaza. We were there for Seussical the Musical at the playhouse. Good production. But, it just so happened that it sell on their festival weekend. With vendors and complimentary materials, especially sweet treats, it was an even more special visit. There's a few shops and a couple of restaurants that are encouraging us to come back. It looks like there's some nighttime activities, too. Very cool.

There was a lot of excitement when Westport Plaza opened in 1973 and, for years, it was the place to be for good dining, entertainment and shopping. I had not been there for three years, but recently met friends for dinner.
I was amazed!
I know that, at one point, the Plaza suffered, like most eating and entertainment venues in America, but new management took over a few years ago and, their efforts show.
We were there on a Saturday, early evening, and the "Village" was jumping. There were young and old couples, families and a wedding party enjoying what the Village had to offer. That includes not only a half dozen entertainment venues and entertainment in restaurants, but a wide range of food choices. A few of the choices include Paul Mineo's, recognized for highest quality and service and typical a St. Louis menu; Patrick's where you can get great sandwiches and much more; the Train Wreck where you will get large portions and lots of choices; Kobe Japanese and the Drunken Fish, in a class all by themselves; and several more including McDonald's.
Fresh landscaping installed last year and well maintained gives the Village an environment that welcomes strolling.
There is a promise of more shopping choices in the Village in coming years, but for now it's not a bad place to take the family and see what you can get into.

This place has been around for a while now. Its current iteration has lots of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, live theater and comedy, sports bars and more. There are several hotels there as well as a conference center and of course a large well-done Starbucks.

There were some new higher end restaurants coming in too which is always a good sign.

Worth checking out, perhaps not seeking out yet.

It was great! Stayed at Westport Plaza. Watch the fireworks, lasted longer than expected. Spectacular. Restaurants were ready for people. Great food and service. People were so friendly and helpful. Families were out in force. Many were frequent visits for the holidays events. Parking lots had plenty of parking. Fun!

Westport Plaza is having a come back. New restaurants are opening, lots of entertainment value with Westport Social, with lots of activities and games. Then, try the TrainWreck for a band and dancing! The Westport Playhouse is just fabulous!

The show was good but watch where they seat you. DO NOT sit anywhere near the entrance. This is where the waitress and staff hang out and they are leaning up against the counters carrying on conversations in their regular voices. It was difficult to focus on the comedian when you can hear the staff yakking away. Totally unprofessional for a comedy club, it really ruined the show. The waitress we had didn't even lower her voice when taking orders, yet again unprofessional. Also by the entrance some door be loud when closed. I called the club to talk to the manager about my concerns and he never returned my call, again unprofessional...I'm guessing he was with the staff yakking during the show.

I am giving this area 3 stars because it is very outdated and the atmosphere can be very dull. Sometimes there are live shows here, and there are coffee shops and restaurants as well. The hotel is nice and so is the pool but it could all use a facelift which would hopefully revive the area

you have to park and walk to the plaza. it was full of restaurants and shops. easy to navigate, but hard to decide where to eat, because there were so many choices! we had two 8 yr olds and they loved it. there was an old fashioned candy store that had the kind of candy most stores had back in the sixties! I highly recommend the experience!

This is an intimate theater experience. We was "Always...Patsy Cline". The play was well written, entertaining, and the performance was wonderful! This is an overlooked venue that deserves more attention. You have to check it out. You will feel that you are part of the play! Wonderful!
