Explore the fascinating history, culture and architectural legacy of Downtown St. Louis from the city's founding through its current development. Your experienced guides will discuss famous landmarks as well as hidden gems, stunning architectural details and the art of historic preservation. Take the Downtown East or the Downtown West Tour Saturdays April through October starting at 9:00 AM. Each tour is $15 per person; children under 12 are free. Tours run between 2 and 2 1/2 hours long and cover about two miles at a moderate pace. Please visit LandmarksTours-STL.org for complete information and to purchase advance tickets. We had a wonderful overview of the unique history of St Louis by Warren and Sharon. Their talk was very informative and fun. We stopped at many places on our 2 1/2 tour where they pointed out amazing architectural details of historic buildings and shared stories of the people and the time period which helped us appreciate St Louis even more. My husband, son and I highly recommend this tour and it was a highlight of our trip.

These tours are so interesting! St Louis has so much interesting history and unique beautiful architecture! Well worth the time for tourists and locals.The volunteer guides know and love what they do. Thank you Charlie!

The architecture and building details are amazing. Charlie our guide told us fascinating backstories that bring life to days gone by. We went inside many of the buildings for a total history experience. Definitely a pleasure to walk along and admire this well kept downtown.

I signed up for this tour ahead of time in anticipation of visiting St. Louis to attend my wife's cousin's wedding. It cost only $10 plus processing fee. I invited my wife, my daughter and son-in-law to join the tour. We met up with the guide in front of the old court house and there were about 20 of us in the group. The tour lasted about 2 hours and 15 min altogether. Our guide Ryan, born and raised in St. Louis, is a history teacher in town and also works at the MO history museum, Ryan was one of the best city tour guides that I ever had anywhere in the world ! He was simply superb, talking about all kinds of interesting stories related to each building and attraction we passed by. He was very attentive to each of us, answering every question patiently and effectively. He basically knew everything about St. Louis. I had no idea that this city is related to so many famous people and incidents in the history of US. All of us learned so much about this city. He was also very funny and entertaining as well. The time went by so quickly and we were all very impressed with the whole tour. We actually ended up missing going up the famous arch and we were still absolutely glad we attended this tour instead. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

My wife and I decided to go on the East walking tour which begins in the historic Union Station. Our walking guide Rick Rosen was an amazing source of information on the neighborhoods and was both passionate and enthusiastic which made the tour even more special. What we particularly enjoyed is the extra effort Rick had made to provide historic photos at each location and to point out particular building features that we otherwise would certainly have missed. We look forward to taking other walking tours with this organization on future visits to St. Louis. Definitely a great way to see the city and to see the inside of buildings.

We really enjoyed the West Walking Tour - so much that we plan to book the East Walking Tour next season. Our guide, Rick, provided us with a great narrative of the history of Downtown St. Louis while also encouraging questions and additional commentary. We appreciated his group discussion approach, making the experience less of a lecture and more of a conversation. Thank you for a great experience!

This was a spectacular Architectural tour!
We loved our tour guide, RICK so much. He was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. We want to do more tours with him. We definitely want to hang out with Rick again! Thank you!

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I have lived here almost all our lives but we still learned a lot, and came away with inspirations for learning and experiencing even more.
Saint Louis has some truly spectacular architecture, and this tour is a great introduction to an area of the city that's experiencing growth and renewal. Our guide, Charles L, was friendly and very knowledgeable; our city is lucky to have volunteer ambassadors like him.
Whether you're visiting for a few days or you've lived here forever, this tour is highly recommended!

My husband and I went on this two hour walking tour of west downtown StL. I have lived here my whole life. Very interesting and informative tour. I love all things history, so I thought I already knew quite a bit of stuff about StL, but I learned interesting tidbits at each stop. Perfect blend of architecture and history. Our tour guide, Charlie, was fantastic. Leisurely walk
