The MUNY is always a treat, especially over the past few years since the new artistic director took over. The production values and talent are so much better. I went last night to see The Little Mermaid. It wasn't a show that I would have...More

I grew up in the St.Louis area. We loved to go to the Muni Opera. I saw Yul Brynner in The King And I twice , also Nureyev and others over the years. But now I'm a Santa Fe transplant for 21 years. Why would...More

I was invited to The Muni last night. The performance was "the Little Mermaid". The sets were beautifully done and costuming was imaginative. This was the first time I have seen a children's cartoon turned into a play. I will leave the play review to...More

The Muny has been in St. Louis for 99 years and is a great place for an outside musical! It is in Forest Park, which is a huge park and easy to locate. There are a variety of ticket prices and even free seats at...More

What a great experience! A wonderful venue for outdoor performances. Went to see a Broadway Musical and the setting was beautiful. The stage is large and the sound system is superb. I highly recommend seeing a performance here!

Went there Saturday, May 13,2017 for a graduation. And even though the threatre stands were 90% full with graduates and spectators, none of the concession stands were open. The crowd sat out in the hot 80+ degrees weather for 4+ hours with nothing but warm...More

Where else can you receive Broadway level entertainment for free? Great way to introduce your kids to theater. And if you want to sit closer, there are good seats at a variety of different prices. It does get a bit sticky on hot summer nights,...More

The Muny is my favourite way to spend my summer. We always go and sit in the free seats, yes they are the last 5 rows of the theater, but you can see over everyone else's head. Use strong binoculars and you will not miss...More

Nothing makes me more excited than receiving the Muny catalog in the mail each March. Most of the offerings are traditional musicals, but they have a couple of selections each year that are current. It boasts one of the largest stages in the US and...More

There are several. Look for one that says that it is close to Forest Park or the Zoo.

We are planning to bring a blanket and chairs to picnic on the Muny grounds. Will we be able to stay in that same spot to watch the performance? (Instead of getting in line to get the free seats.)

No. There is not ground seating that would give a view of the stage. People typically picnic before the show, and if you are going to sit in the free seats, set up your picnic while you wait in line.

There is no description that I could see of what kind of activity this is, what you do, what is the goal, etc. All I saw was reviews. Full description of this attraction please.

The Muny is the largest outdoor theater in the United States and it puts on Broadway style musicals throughout the summer months. The cost for admission tickets can be pricey, but the final 9 rows are free!!!
