This is a great place to take children on field trips, or just take the family. There's a small playground and it's beautiful in fall. They also have some great options in the gift shop like flavored honey sticks and fresh-grown produce. Fantastic establishment!

If you want to tap into the inner redneck in you, a trip up to the apple orchard is in order. You can go out and pick your own apple and even have a hayride.

I think this is a family-fun place for the fall. I went in the daytime before Halloween. I had not been there before. They have a slide for the kids. A hayride for the kids. Pumpkin picking for the kids. A petting zoo for the kids. The inside of the "barn" had some gourds, pumpkins, jellies, etc. I spent about 20 minutes in there and saw everything. All in all, it was a good way to spend a half hour, longer if you have kids.

Come and pick fruit or ride in a hay wagon and go pick out a pumpkin in the fall or a Christmas tree in November/December! Wonderful people! GREAT HOT APPLE CIDER! Can't miss that!

I always enjoy going to Schweitzer's during the fall to get apples. You can pick your own or buy them already picking. It is a great place to go with kids as they have a playground and a train during the fall weekends.

The farm is family owned and it shows. The highlight is to be able to pick your own apples or peaches. We go there each August to pick sun ripened peaches directly from the trees. The store has numerous freshly made commodities like jams, jellies, etc. I like to pick up the odd soup or bread mix. It is also the only site I have ever seen knives specifically made for tomatoes, which are also available in season. They have squash, corn, green beans, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, and most other produce you can imagine when in season, all locally grown.
Children are welcome, and they love to find their own fresh fruit. There is a playground, and in the fall Sweitzer's has special events, such as hayrack rides, pumpkin patches, and so on.
It's a great activity for children, or if you just want to get fresh produce. It's located just east of Highway 169, and a ways south. Not hard to find, and not far to go.
Prices are not as low as the seasonal pop-up stands that appear when tomatoes and corn are in season. But the quality is consistent, and no surprise. If you were disappointed in an item, I'm sure they would replace it.

When the older Schweizer;s ran this it was much better. It is not kept up like it once was. They do not really know when some types of fruit are ready to be picked, The peaches I got were much too green still.
