This is an excellent display of the history of northwest Missouri and St Joseph starting with the Indians. The interactive displays of animal tracks and bird calls are very educational and fun. The huge mammoth that greets you at the door is awesome.

I was exploring St. Joseph on the first nicely warm Saturday since I arrived in town almost a month ago. I saw this place on the map and found it! It is great. Lots of interesting exhibits revolving around the local natural and social history!

My grandkids always ask to go to the Remington Nature Center. They are 9 & 5 years old. They are fascinated by the exhibits. Sometimes they have a scavenger hunt for the kids.

We visited the Remington Nature center while in St. Joseph. It was very interesting learning about the wildlife (then and now) that inhabit(ed) this area of Missouri. It also provides history of the populations that lived in Missouri as well. The indoor beehive was fascinating.

I finally got around to visiting this local museum. While it is not too large, it is full of interesting exhibits. I enjoyed, in particular, the walk of mankind's growth through time--even if I did do it backwards. The location is also a plus. Take time to take a stroll along the walkway. Exhibits are well done. I particularly enjoyed the beaver exhibits, and the interactive animal tracks animation. The animal tracks identification round table uses lights and audio describing the tracks of each animal one at a time. When the audio begins, n beautiful tracks appear in what looks like sand (but is not). They disappear upon conclusion of the description. There... More
