The state of Missouri used to post signs on the payout for slots. In Vegas, it's 98-100%. Yep..that high. They make their profit in drinks, rooms, and table games, and help subsidize the slots. Here, at this location, the payout is - by law - regulated at 83%. Terrible. You put in a hundred, get back $83. Put in $83, get back - on average - $68. Put in $68, get back $56. You get the idea. It isn't fun, at ALL, to watch your money slowly. dwindle. and. die. I like slots, and I have been here about 10 times in 20 years...but I have won exactly one time. wife hit a nice jackpot, over $600, and we left. Immediately. Fortunately, this puts us up, total, over the long haul. We decided to quit while we were ahead. Oh..their food places are decent. Over priced, of course, because this entire facility is a rip off, but quality is OK.

Went here on our way to Branson. Can't complain about the way there, I won in the fist 15 minutes, twice. Paid for my trip. On the way home, not so much. Staff was nice. Place was clean. Had a great time! Would go again.

Few bonus games, very low payouts regardless how much you spend. Higher bets have less frequent payouts than the lower bets. Very disappointing. I dont mind losing but would like to have a few bonus games here and there. Not worth the trip.

Very nice place to stay. I expected the machines to be tight, and they were!
The pool was dirty, skin all over the tiles.
Ceilings in elevator need cleaned!

Even on Thursday night, it was crowded. On Friday night, most machines were occupied. Table games were full with waiting lists. Smoking was everywhere.

CDC guidelines were observed in that masks were worn by all. Social distancing at machines was enforced but only casually at table games.

The second level afford smoke free access to machines, but no smoke-free table games are provided.

Surprisingly, most dealers were long-term employees. Almost all are professional and fun to play with.

We booked a presidential suite for $324, for our wedding night, about 2 weeks in advance. During our wedding reception around 930pm Ameristar called us to tell us they had overbooked and didn't have a single room available for us to stay in. Then they told us that we would get a full refund and they were going to pay for a room at another hotel for the night. We knew this wasn't ideal but they seemed to be making an effort so we were fine with it. We ended up not being able to check in at the other hotel due to other issues arising there and ended up having to go back home for our wedding night. After a week of waiting for our refund we called Ameristar to get it they told us that since we stayed at the other hotel we were not getting a refund and there was nothing they could do for us. Even though we didn't end up getting to stay at the other room, it was at a cheap motel and not an equivalent exchange for all the money we paid for the presidential suite. After a full day of calling all parties involved we were finally able to get our refund by getting the other hotel to call Ameristar and personally tell them we didn't stay so they would process the refund. Throughout all of this we had Joshua Jones, the front office assistant manager of Ameristar, this man consistently let me know that none of this was "his problem" and he was not interested at all in giving any assistance in resolving the issue. Even when he said he would call someone for me, I would have to call only to find he never made the call at all and would have to get the other party to contact him. Overall we were extremely dissatisfied with our experience at Ameristar hotel and the fact that they were OK with just keeping our money and giving us nothing in return. Please be careful when booking with them.

If I could give it 0 I would. I had booked a room for one night here. Through their website you book a room through other outsource booking agencies. Paid $241 for a room for one night. Called to confirm my room for the night. Somehow it got canceled through one of the booking agencies they use. The Ameristar spa employee told me it was canceled and that I had no room booked and that I was not able to be given a refund because it was non refundable. I asked her if they can give me another room and she said I need to call the booking agency they use and go through them. I asked her if there was anyway they could do something considering it is THERE hotel. She said no and continued to tell me I need to call an out source booking agency in order to talk about a room I booked and had paid for. Funny how you can't call Ameristar Spa and Resort and get information on your hotel room at Ameristar Spa and Resort....

While visiting Ameristar at St. Charles on June 20, 2020 I used one of the on site ATM's operated by NRT Technology. During the process of using the ATM it malfunctioned and was unable to complete the process of dispensing money. However, this happened after the transaction had been approved by my bank, resulting in the money being removed from my account, but never delivered. It has now been almost one month that I have been trying to get NRT Technology to authorize my bank to re-credit my account with the money I never received. I have called the NRT phone number given me by staff at the Ameristar cashier window many, many times and keep getting, a) excuses, or b) "It's being worked on right now." Meanwhile, no money is reappearing in my bank account. Also, from the first time I called NRT within 30 minutes of the ATM malfunction I have been told that their system showed the ATM malfunction and that the money was not distributed. One of the excuses offered has been that their settlement department "has thousands of claims to process." This statement alone should make a person wary of using one of their ATM's.

This was our second stay in a month. Now the 1st stay was totally amazing. Room was "Boyd clean" with all the new enhanced practices clearly implemented. The 1st check in process was smooth, gave us extra supplies due to housekeeping not servicing rooms while guests are inside due to COVID-19. Usage of the pool was great, definitely could have spent my entire trip there. Casino was hot streaks hearing everyone hitting bells and whistles. (That was a 5 star stay) However our 2nd trip was far less spectacular. On arrival they had automatically tried giving us pool view, simple request changed it to the river. However we were on a smoking floor which means no guests under 21, but as we walked past other rooms we saw: 1 room with a baby/toddler, and another with multiple children in it. Plus let's not even begin to discuss the smell of illegal substances coming out into the hallway that instantly gave me a headache. We notified the front desk, and the guy could have cared less. Said he would make a note of it. When we get to our room, its stuffy and hot. I turn the thermostat down to 67 to try and get air moving around. There's a used water bottle in the mini fridge and fingerprints in the shower stall. Definitely not the standard "Boyd clean" they claim or had shown. The makeup mirror was broken and the lighting didn't work. Second day we leave the room for several hours returning in the evening and when we return we notice the room is now almost chilly. Thinking ok, the ac finally caught up go to the thermostat and it is now set on 60! I didnt change it, my husband didn't change it. Call the front desk to ask if anybody has been in our room (due to new policy no one is supposed to be in our room due to COVID-19) only to have the same guy as before (I'm assuming) tell me he doesn't have access to that information. We immediately packed up our stuff and checked out at midnight. Don't appreciate someone coming into our room and then staff telling us they can't access the information. (This would have been a 1 star stay) Hense the 3 stars.

The best is the all you can crab legs on Friday evening. The crab legs were, well, crab legs. They were small in diameter. There were a Few claws, but not many. It was the rest of buffet that was good. The shrimp fried rice was good. The Mongolian wok was good, the seafood ravioli would hav been better if it was warmer. The fried shrimp were good, but it would have better if warm. There were several other foods like beef and pork and all the fixings. If that is as good as the seafood, it is really good. The all you can eat crab legs buffet is $44.99. Other buffets are priced depending on what they have. I really want to have prime rib. I give them a 3.5 because the food would be better warm.
