Take the road to view the dam for both above and below the dam. Some of the history is listed on plaques at the viewing areas.

The bridge area is a picturesque drive. The little area for games and such could use a revamp. That was a neat features a few years back.

The Dam is impressive and although it does not supply a huge amount of electricity compared with other dams, it does provide an excellent recreational area. There is also the control of flood areas which is very beneficial to the local area. There is a...More

I always take a quick drive over the dam when I visit the lake for the relaxing views. I love the strip of shops of restaurants nearby as well!

My wife and I visited the Bagnell Dam and found the view to be awesome, both toward the lake and down the river.

Found the visitor's center only mildly entertaining, and can't see much from simply driving over the dam. Really enjoyed the look-out point for something free and easy. No guided tours, gift shops, or anything too exciting but some interesting historical information if that is your...More

The dam itself is not that impressive, however the huge lake formed by this dam is so impressive. We could not believe just how large the lake is and the number of water craft on it.

Bagnell Dam isn't too impressive visually. When I drove across the dam, they had the other end of the road closed off. You could u-turn and drive back or pay $10 for parking and walk on the narrow sidewalk. There wasn't anything else to do...More

Bagnell Dam is a must to at least drive over on any trip to or near the Lake. There is a small area below the dam where you can view it and walk along a small section, but the real gem is fishing. Parking is...More

Bagnell dam top is a two lane dam roadway. Below the dam is campground. I would say no. Two lane roadway with no shoulder and gravel road campground. But check with Osage beach city hall for other access.

They no longer offer guided tours. You can only access the outer portion of the dam on the east and the musuem on the west side of the road.

We stayed at the Treetop Condominiums at Four Seasons from 11/7-11/14 2008. A couple things about the place. 1) Unless going for quiet walks, fishing, or boating in the cold... only go during the tourist season. Other than bars and some shopping stores, the 2-3 closest towns shut down 85% of their attractions and 95% during week days. 2) Any directions that you get on-line that don't end with you taking Business 54 (Bagnell Dam Blvd) to State HWY HH (Horseshoe Bend Pkwy) are wrong and...More
