We arrived after a short trip from our resort, Hopkins Bay, To find our horses, Sundance and five cents, all tacked up and ready to go. The ride was around two hours long and our guide was just as incredible as the ride itself.

Brady was a remarkable young man who told us a lot about his upbringing in the area, what a hard-working young man. He taught us so much about the jungle, the horses, the government, and the culture. What an authentic experience. as we were stopped and listening to Brady tell us about the previous orchard on the ranch, We saw a jaguarundi slink past my husband’s horse and into the jungle!

The horses were incredibly well behaved, we never once felt unsafe or out of control, it will long be one of my favorite memories out of any trip We have taken to this point. I highly recommend this excursion, it is such a bargain for the experience you have!

Outback trails is blessed to have an asset like Brady as an employee, if we ever make our way back to The country you better “Belize” will be taking this ride again and requesting Brady!! Thanks again Brody for an amazing experience truly “unbelizable”! ;)

If you are looking for a great experience while in the Placencia area we highly recommend Outback Trails for a horseback riding excursion in the jungle. We were hosted by Ken and Tania, two of the trail hands that took us out for our horseback riding day in the jungle. Before heading out, we were given the chance to meet the horses that we’d be riding along with a very young colt and a thoroughbred that are boarded in the stables. It was a great up close experience. As for the horseback riding, it was amazing. We rode through open fields before heading under the canopy of the jungle. We stopped midway for snacks along a river while the horses rested. Ken and Tania told us about the stables, the horses and the work that they do. It was fascinating. On the ride back to the stables we were also given the opportunity to let our horses gallop with us for a while once we got back to the open fields. What a great experience all around.

I asked them to get a private Jungle Trail Tour and they agreed. Fantastic guide with a lot of knowledge. The grounds are perfect (open space, jungle, river) so there is a lot to see. As an experienced rider I could canter a lot, uphill and on open grounds. Really not to miss. Better than expected. Horses are well trained. Nice farm.

What an incredible experience riding through the rainforest! We loved the trails and the horses! Our guide Ken was so knowledgeable and was able answer all of our questions. He showed us jaguar tracks along the way and explained how leafcutter ants build their nests. We also got to see a newborn horse on our way back from the tour. That was such a special experience! Thank you again for such a fun ride!

We visited Outback Trails to go horseback riding during our stay at a nearby resort in Belize. Having never previously gone horseback riding, I was a little nervous but very excited. My husband and I were lucky in that we were the only people who signed up for horseback riding at that day and time so we got our own private tour :) Michelle, who initially greeted us, was very kind and welcoming. It was Brady who actually took us horseback riding through the jungle and what an amazing experience that was. He was so kind and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure talking to him as we were riding. Our horses, Cody and Silver, were so well behaved/trained which made the riding a breeze. It is clear that everyone at Outback Trails is extremely knowledgeable about what they do and the horses are very well cared for. I would highly recommend this place and visit again if we travel back to Belize!

We first rode with Outback Trails in May and had so much fun we came back in November. Both times were fantastic. Michelle the owner is very kind and attentive. Ken was our guide for both rides and he had so much knowledge and experience. We rode to waterfalls and through some creeks. Beautiful countryside and forests. Great, well kept horses that were responsive and sweet. We will continue to book with them.

I messaged the owner last minute (the night before) asking if my husband and I could just come and see the horses. After being cooped up in lockdown for over 5mos, we needed to see life outside of our four walls. She msg me back and said sure come over! Her horse trainer and trail guide, Ken, was there along with her daughter to greet us and welcome us in. They were so great! Just getting to be around horses, brushing them, cuddling them was so good for my heart. Ken did such a great job (he’s bilingual English/Spanish which was great for us!) he showed us around and made us feel so comfortable. The place is beautiful with so much natural variety; trees, the river, grass pastures and mountains. They have a great selection of horses catering to any rider from beginner to experienced. I was especially impressed that they have many different breeds of horses, from appaloosas to Arabs, paso finos to paints. We can’t wait to go back and ride very very soon!

Recommended without reservation! Even in torrential rain, we had a great ride—it wouldn’t be the rainforest without rain, after all. Michelle was a pleasure to book with, and Ken was a faboulous trail guide. We learned so much about the area, the ecosystem, and the farm. The rides in and out were about an hour each, and very manageable even for the person in our group who had never ridden before. A swim in the river is highly recommended by our teen. A great way to spend a morning, and well worth the drive from Placencia or Hopkins!

Michelle and her team of wranglers are so very thorough and knowledgable. They truly love the horses, the land, and their culture. The ranch was pristine and the 5 mile trail ride was breathtaking. The horses are well cared for and beautiful! They know them so well, and did an excellent job matching them to their rider. I would love to do a longer tour and enjoy more of the forest. This was a FIVE STAR MUST DO! We were staying at Chabil Mar in Placencia.
