I met some friends to do check out some breweries that have reopened (instead of carryout only) from COVID-19 stay at home order. These are friends that we practice social distancing, so we want places that do have outdoor seating area to help us spread part. None of us have been to CallSign before, so for us it was a change to try a "new" brewery to us. CallSign has been around for two years, they recently added a covered porch (with ceiling fans) on the north side of the brewery. CallSign has Air Force as inspiration as the owners has served in the Air Force. We got a flight of all the beers they had on tap. (11 beers out of 12) we each had a small taster glass to pour a taste of the flight beers. (Post COVID beer sharing.) Not surprising, the beer are named after "Air Force Call Signs." CallSign has variety of beer styles: IPAS, Ales (Blonde, Brown) Stout, Farmhouse Ale, lagers, Cream Ale, Red Ale. There was also a Pina Colada beer. Apparently, one of their brew master is a bit more experimental. (Keep it up, guys!) CallSign does solid beers. We very much enjoyed all our 'tastes', or course after tasting several it was hard to pick a favorite. A nice addition to the Kansas City area brewery scene.

This is a new brewery, just opened, in NKC Mo. Brewery is designed around veterans and active duty military. Currently 4 types of beer on tap....very soon to be 6 types!
Shandra and others are very friendly and outgoing. A nice touch is the constant streaming videos of aircraft operations on the large flat screen TV.

No longer on Gentry.
New location is easy to access at 14th Ave and Burlington and very comfortable seating with plenty of elbow room between tables. Have my favorites after a few visits but haven't had a bad pint there. Bar-B-Q is right up there with anyone in the city. Would like to see the Bar-B-Q expand to every day service. Check out their pint specials.

I do not recommend!! I have tried three different times to enter the business only to find that they are closed despite what their hours are posted on their own website. Two other sites have different hours and I have called their number and their message states incorrect hours. For example, their own website and phone message states that they are open on Thursday and Friday at 11:00 am. They are not. I recommend Cinderblock Brewery around the corner. They keep consistent and reliable hours.

A few friends and I went to Callsign Brewery because we were in the area and there are a lot of breweries to try out around here. Overall, I thought it was a fun place to go out for a night and there’s definitely opportunities to bar hop between breweries.

Beer is a matter of taste, of course, and I thought the brews were just OK. Nothing really blew me away at this particular spot, but your mileage may vary. They did have mixed drinks available for people who did not drink beer, which is always a welcome addition when needed.

There’s a lot of seating, and plenty of parking -- that's the beauty of being in this warehouse district. It’s a very out-of-the-way spot. They do have a shuffleboard table, but it is not glazed so it’s pretty hard to play actually.

Loved their slogan! My husband is a veteran and loved that there was a beer named after his unit, the Screaming Eagle for the 101st Airborne!

A nice little brewery find. The brewery is located in an old building in an industrial area, but the inside is attractively decorated, and they have game boards available for customers. They do not serve food, but allow food to be brought in or ordered in.

I had a very enjoyable visit while tasting their 6-sampler flight. But, the best was the release they had when I visited which was a pumpkin ale. Alas, it was available in only limited quantity. The staff is very friendly at the bar and in the taproom.

Certainly a place for return visits.

I really liked this place. Just the sort of place that you hope does well! Cool idea for a brewery and neat old building. The couple that runs the place were very friendly and fun. Terrific beer, no IPA yet, but it's coming. A place you can make your own... Try the Bomber Brown - very good!
