We had a great visit to Go Ape today and would recommend it as a fun and safe outdoor adventure even for those being very cautious and selective of activities during the global pandemic.

We arrived about 15 minutes before our start time and were welcomed and the staff checked us in. They were very mindful of both covid-19 health procedures and general adventure course safety procedures. It was nice to see that it wasn’t just policies on paper/the website - they were actively being implemented.

All staff and guests are required to wear face masks any time you’re within 6’ of another person (so during orientation and infrequently along the course) but we were able to remain 6’ from others not in our group at almost all times. The one exception was when the staff needed to check our harnesses to ensure our safety. That was outdoors and took less than one minute.

After orientation, we moved just as our group (2 of us) and were apart from the two other groups that did orientation during our time slot.

The course is primarily shaded so while we did wear sunscreen and bug spray, we probably would have been fine without it. We opted to leave hats and sunglasses in the car so we didn’t lose them along the course and were glad that we made that decision.

We were on the course during a sudden and unexpected rain storm. It was heavy rain and I could hear on the radios that staff were actively monitoring the weather reports in case it became unsafe and they had to clear the course. It was such a hot day that the rain was welcome and made it even more of an adventure!

We had a blast and would highly recommend going - and would come back again!

We did the tree top adventure and it was a blast! They are very attentive about physical safety and are really watching out for people to make sure they are doing ok and are not over tired. I thought it might be a bit harder than I could do as I have a 85% recovered shoulder injury but it was fun and invigorating :) I want to go again tomorrow!!! There was a woman in front of us that was really struggling and although that was a bummer for us, as there was a lot of waiting, the staff was on top of it. They answered an emergency whistle promptly, were encouraging (even when she had to stop for quite some time up in the trees) and helped her get through it the way she felt safest with rest breaks. I am glad she was able to finish. I am sure she feels great about getting through it. A well worth while way to spend an afternoon!

Amazing Experience! My kids were 11 & 13. We did the tree top adventure which is the most difficult. We then tried taking the moderate options on that course. Recommend being in good shape. Def purchase their $8 gloves with the full fingers. Bring or purchase the phone holder for your neck so you can stay hands free and snap some pics & videos while up in the trees! FYI they don’t cancel or close if raining so where boots & dress appropriately. You may get muddy. Bring towels for the car ride home. Must try if you are an adventurous family or person!

Took a friend and my daughter to Go Ape. They had never done anything like this before. I had just visited the Memphis location. We had a blast. First time across a wire was a little scary for them but they got the hang of it. Zip lining was good, caution hard landing every time. Wear old clothes and shoes because you drag in the mulch at each landing zone. Can’t be prevented. Doesn’t hurt just messy. Tarzan swings were so much fun! Can’t wait to try the next location.

This is a ropes course more than anything. Each station or stop is 2-3 ropes challenges followed by a short zip to the next stop. The ropes challenges have varying degrees of difficulty and sometimes you can choose between two routes to take the challenge you are most comfortable doing. It is definitely a challenge if you have a fear of heights or are not coordinated! As for the zips, they are pretty short and you will get dirty on landing. There is no breaking system and you basically stop by landing in a pile of mulch. I have zipped several times and these were definitely the shortest I've done and the strangest "breaking" system I've seen. It rained a little the day we were there, so we were filthy. Strongly recommend bringing extra clothes. With this said, it was a fun day. There were kids and adults doing the course and I think everyone found a way to be challenged and have fun. And while you are not led by a guide, I never felt like safety was an issue and they do have some staff roaming the course to supervise a few of the more challenging areas. This course is located in a very leafy part of the park and you are really up in the trees and feeling pretty isolated, which really lends to the experience. Also recommend bring gloves to protect your hands.

I have never zip lined, and my kids have only zip lined on short kiddie lines so I was a bit nervous about how this was going to work, especially when I read on the website that we would be "on our own". The training session was very good at familiarizing ourselves with the equipment, especially as it concluded with an on-the-ground simulation of a typical course. My 10 year old daughter had to learn to open and close the safety clips on her own without help and it took her some time but she succeeded.

Then it was off to the course. There are 5 sites to the course and each site begins with a rope ladder climb, requires traversing a variety of bridges, and ends with a zip line to the ground. My 10 year old became adept at clipping/unclipping her safety cords, chose the "extreme" route every time there was a choice, grew in confidence as she moved through the course, and had a ball.

The bridges comprised of tight rope walking (pretty easy since you have rope railings to hold onto), wood planks/platforms that hung freely and you had to get from one to another, rings for @^&*!! sakes that swung wildly as you stepped on them, a rope ladder with a twist halfway, and a TARZAN swing which took more courage than skill and then a good deal of upper body strength to climb up the netting. I am more than 50 years old and 20 lbs heavier than I should be, and can't do a pull up to save my life but I managed to do the whole -- extreme -- course; and there were ladies in front of us who were even older, heavier, and less fit looking who got through too (I didn't see how they did it); so I'm pretty sure anyone reasonably fit or determined can succeed at this!

The zip lines were amazingly fun. I LOVED them. The landings were quite jarring (my neck was sore after 5 landings) and I left some feedback with the company about how "dragging your feet" wasn't all that helpful as a landing strategy. If you can land on your feet, that's the way to go. Try not to let your butt be the thing that stops you.

Finally, make sure you leave EARLY. Google Maps predicted 30 minutes without traffic to get from downtown Saint Louis to Go Ape and it took us an hour.

My husband and I went to Go Ape and had a great time. It is pretty strenuous, especially if you don't have a lot of upper body strength. My husband had no problems at all, but I was very sore the next day. The zip lines themselves are great. I wish there were a few more of them. It took us just under 2 1/2 hours to finish. I will definitely be doing it again.

Great adult and youth fun. Great Ziplines but it is more of an all around treetop adventure. My favorite is the Ziplines that land into vertical cargo nets. It's a great 2 hour adventure. Best value of fun of all Ziplines we have been too. The greatest part is it's at your leisure you climb the trees you release yourself and you stop yourself. Their great guides train you and then let you go. Best adventure of our weekend. Oh and did I mention the park it's beautiful. Great adult fun you can take your kids to.
