Most of the other visitors we met were from central and eastern Missouri and they seemed surprised that we were from an adjacent state instead. But given the quality of this even the surprise is that there weren't many more people from out of state. The specific focus of this single October weekend event is the deep Germany heritage of... Deutsch Country Days let's you revisit life at a slower pace, when men and women still worked with their hands. Fresh-squeezed apple cider, hot or cold, a working sorghum press, a steam-driven sawmill, hand-woven linens, and the list goes on. Don't miss a beautiful fall day in the hills of Missouri at this walk in the past.

First let me congratulate the organizers of this event. They thought of everything! I wish I knew of Deutsch Country Days when the kids were young. Too bad it only happens on the weekend...it would be an amazing school field trip. The Boy Scouts did a great job of feeding the crowd. Be sure to wear the proper footwear. You'll... More

We've been going for years and it's always fun. This year there was home made ice cream. I paired it with the home made root beer and had the BEST root beer float EVER!! I got the goat's milk lotion, which is awesome - very rich and moisturizing. I also got some hand carved spatulas this time (I usually get... More

Nothing compares to this fabulous event held each fall in Mid Missouri. Our family has attended for years and we also enjoy volunteering at Deutsch Country Days at Luxenhaus Farm and meeting people who visit from surrounding states. Enjoy 100+ vendors and exhibits held in a setting so memorable. Mark your calendars and visit the web site at www.deutschcountrydays.org. The... More

After 50 years of attending these types of events--scouting, pioneer crafts, frontier skills, etc.--I am TOTALLY impressed that there is still more for me to learn and see. This venue is a great deal for the funds required. The family who owns this farm has brought vintage German buildings from the Missouri River Valley area and relocated them at the... More

This living history weekend is one of the best I have attended. There are so many craftsmen showing German skills from the past. You can take your time and watch the craftsmen at work. They answer questions and you can try your hand at some crafts. Great food is available also. There are many old cabins and out buildings to... More

I was looking at a flier for these Deutsch Country Days and noticed that "ACTIVE MILITARY" are given a discount for enterance to this activity. I am a retired military veteran and I also know a lot of disabled Veterans, and we have to pay full price because we have already served our country and have been injured or medically... More

This is a festival that everyone in our family enjoys. From the gorgeous fall foliage to the covered bridge, there is beauty everywhere. Our children enjoy stepping back in time--washing clothes in a washtub, dipping candles, making rope--it's all there and much, much more. I enjoy shopping for crafts made by award-winning artisans, crafts that I can find only at... More
