What a bonus for a side trip while biking the Katy Trail. We planned on stopping here when we rode the Katy Trail. The Vineyard is about 7 miles east of the McKittrick, Mo. trailhead. Once we pushed the bikes uphill from the Katy Trail to the vineyard, we were met by a beautiful panoramic view from the hill, The Vineyard house has a wraparound porch, with outdoor seating. The service was excellent, as the hostess greeted us, and offered a sangria, explaining it was a lighter beverage for cyclists and was not "heavy" for the return ride. The wines were also excellent and our hostess was always attentive to us for the next few hours. Lost Creek Vineyard was not as large as the other vineyards in the Herrmann area, but made up for that in large-scale service and quality refreshments.…

We spent the better part of a day at this winery. It wasn’t our plan but we enjoyed it so much. It has a tranquil setting with lots of seating choices—covered and open air. They had a great duo singing favorites and even a dance floor. Looked like lots of family celebrations but no kids to speak of (except for our 2 and 7 month old grandchildren) so really an adult crowd. They made pizzas and fresh kettle corn or you could bring your own food. The crowd was friendly and we chatted with many other patrons. Would definitely go again! Also, even though it was the busy weekend of Oktoberfest, this place didn’t attract the student crowd so not as crazy as it could have been, thankfully.…

We enjoyed our tasting. They had some good wines. There was a big wrap around patio/balcony that was the perfect area to sit and enjoy the views.

My wife and I stumbled on this winery while going to Hermann. It wasn’t on our Hermann brochure but fortunately we saw there sign coming off Hwy B. Their wines are as good as any other Missouri wine we tasted. The winery is located on a nice little hill and you can drink your wine on their inviting porch. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable. We are dry wine drinkers but found their Peach Wine very interesting. Don’t miss this hidden gem while rushing to Hermann.…

This was our second trip to Lost Creek. They have a shuttle van and will come and pick you up in town and bring you back when you are ready. They offer everything from dry red blends to sweeter wines. This is a family owned business and you can tell because of the obvious passion for what they do. Tom picked us up and Larry talked to us in depth about the wines and how the business came to be. Very interesting! If you are into historic buildings and restoration be sure to ask about the house!…
