Fishing get away

Nice uncrowded park. Fishing dock was great. Seen lots of deer. Caught fish every day! Since the summer was over the marina was closed so bring your own food, bait, etc.

We recently purchased an RV and wanted to see new places in Missouri. Found this gem by accident. Very family friendly, including the four legged ones, awesome swimming area, country store, walking trails and fishing. We have been back four times this year and the kids love the visitors center. A must stop for a weekend or two.

It's a sprawling, beautiful state park on a lake, just a mile or so out of town. You can't ask for better access. Only accessed the walking trails (basically mowed paths through tall grass, the gravel ones are limited) and beach areas (off season). Not much more to say. Grab a picnic lunch, take the family to swim, catch the... More

We reserved a spot for tent camping at Long Branch online. When we arrived and checked our spot, we weren't satisfied with our choice. We walked around and looked at several other locations and chose one of the walk-in sites. The site was located down a lovely, tree-lined path within steps of the beach. It was a perfect location (except... More

There were two parts to our visit, camping at one of the non-electric spots at the lake and then a hike on the North Loop (I think that was the name). The hike is beautiful, but going in mid-August meant that the trails were absolutely overrun by ticks. The park doesn't do a good job of keeping the tall grass... More

My 2 and 4 year old boys love when we have a beach day! I enjoy people watching... Beach is kept pretty clean with several picnic tables set up, newer covered ones as well. This past year I have had to correct some teenagers with the language they used loudly near my boys. Most were respectful to move the conversation... More

The walk in sites are nice, and right on the lake. They are usually quiet, and are away from the camper crowd. Well maintained, and the camp hosts are super friendly. The road noise is the only serious downfall. As long as you don't visit on a major holiday, it's a lovely place to relax around the fire. Fishing is... More

Very nice sandy beach. I was there with my young grandsons. They had a great time in the water and on the beach. There is a marina, volleyball nets, picnic tables, plenty of shade trees, hiking trail, playground equipment and shelter house. Camping is also available.

This was our first camping experience. The campground was pretty nice - although the nearest toilets were vault toilets which our kids didn't love. There are however, very nice toilets and individual showers with changing rooms up by the main entrance. The beach on the campground is very nice - although the bathrooms there were pretty rough. We'll definitely consider... More
