Fantastic Tour of a Finca
Feb 2020
What a fantastic tour! The drive to the finca was long but the scenery was beautiful and it gave us a lot of time to talk casually with Dayana. She is a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable with great English and a whole lot of fun.

We selected a private tour to La Cima and could not be more pleased. The family who owns the farm have been growing coffee for several generations and they treated us like honored guests with a simple breakfast, a very large, traditional Colombian lunch and, of course, all the coffee we could drink.

The farm was beautiful and it was very interesting to learn more about the growing/roasting process and all the time and energy which goes into providing each cup. The taste testing was entertaining because the stuff we liked best was basically the dregs they sell instead of just throwing it away!

To sum it up, we had a great experience spending time with wonderful people and would absolutely recommend this tour, especially with Dayana as a guide.

Note: I am posting this same review in multiple places.

Fantastic Coffee Farm Experience!
Jan 2020 • Solo
Can I leave more than five stars? I know it sounds cheesy but this place is just that special. The hike was a bit strenuous but then I’m from Florida... so, if you have hiking experience it’s wonderful. The hospitality of the family at the farm is off the charts and the food is sooo good. I was so impressed with the professionalism and the warmth of Humberto and the staff/family there as well. I can’t recommend this tour enough. It is a must-do on a visit to Colombia. I wanted to understand the coffee industry from an agricultural perspective and it delivered. Just a side note I went through Toucan Experience which had a very helpful guide Sebastian.

Incredible bean to cup coffee tour experience
Jan 2020 • Couples
What an incredible experience! Our tour guide Catalina took us to Cafe de la Cima coffee plantage where Humberto and his family hosted us for the day. Humberto explained everything about coffee from planting the tree to harvesting, fermenting, roasting and packaging. We got to pick some beans and ended up taking some of the freshly roasted beans home. We got served home made breakfast and lunch (all fresh from ingredients coming straight from their farm... including home made cheese from their cow). We ended the day with a coffee cupping experience! Thank you so much for the experience and we wish you all the best with your farm!

If you tour a coffee farm make it Cafe de la Cima
Dec 2019
We took the coffee tour from Toucan Tours/Experience. The coffee farm is about 100+ minutes southeast of Medellin in the gorgeous Andean mountain tops. The family who owns the farm are amazing.
Once off the off-road that got us from Fredonia to the farm you are greeted with views so stunning and beautiful, your first thought is I never want to leave.
We first met Humberto, son of the farm's founder (who sat smiling in his chair during our visit). Humberto's spirit and soul are full of love an passion for his work, his family and his farm. After Ruta presented us with a typical arepas breakfast, with orange juice from the oranges on the nearby tree, and of course delicious fresh hand picked coffee.
Then it was up the hillside to pick our coffee beans, which we judged afterwards, washed them and husked them. We learned how coffee plants are selected and pruned, how they are dried in the sun, hand selected and roasted.
After Ruta's delicious lunch, we had our coffee tasting from of five different beans. What one looks for in coffee tasting is of course its taste and aroma.
We came to experience a small family coffee farm in Colombia and came away with so much more - more friends, a greater understanding of the struggling small farm coffee growers (over 500,000) in Colombia and the warmth and love of and from the Colombian people.

Absolute MUST!
Nov 2019 • Couples
We went on this coffee tour hoping to learn a little more about coffee and came away with so much! Alba was incredible, and really understands the full craft and was able to share that knowledge with the group. We came away with a newfound appreciation for all coffee farmers and the sweat that goes into the process. Absolute must while in Medellin!

3 reasons you should not miss this trip
Nov 2019 • Couples
1. The people - our Toucan Tours guide Jessica was great. The family who run the farm were so warm and friendly. I wanted to hug them all at the end.

2. The scenery - simply stunning. It was mountain heaven. Up amongst the clouds with green and lush vegetation.

3. The coffee - learned so much about coffee and then drank the delicious fruit of our labours at the end.

Overall a magical and unforgettable experience! ❤️🇨🇴☕️🥰
