Great tasting

We did a wine tasting with Sylvia. Great customer service and wonderful white and red wines. Beautiful view of the lake on the property.

The view is fantastic. The food and atmosphere are perfect for our date nights. We are regulars here and always enjoy our visits.

Wine by the lake.

We visited Shawnee Bluff on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in October. We couldn't get seating with a view of the lake, but our seats were very pleasant being located in the shade. The service was very prompt and the servers were friendly. We had toasted ravioli and a pizza. Both were very good. We also enjoyed a bottle of Sweet Speakeasy wine. A lovely location to visit on the lake.

Us and two other couples stopped for some wine tasting. Very reasonable price to taste, and a generous portion. Had a delicious appetizer of meats, cheeses, and fruit with yummy sauces. Inside was were we stayed, but a lot of people were outside overlooking the lake. Waitresses were very good

Poor service
Aug 2020 • Friends
Staff seemed unhappy that our party of 7 showed up for a tasting and weren’t very friendly or personable. Prices of wine were a bit steep. They charged an 18% “large group” gratuity tax on not only our tastings, but also the bottles of wine we purchased. They also had no change to give to those of us paying cash. It was really a disappointing experience.

We got the cheese board and wine slushy.
Not impressed with the cheeseboard. Just a small handful of cheddar cheese cubes, the meet, and other items where good. The cheese options were just sad.
We ended up wishing that we would have ordered wood fire pizza. That looks like what they are known for and the ones we saw looked good.

Awkward Visit along the Wine Trail
Jul 2020 • Couples
The part of the Shawnee Bluff Winery that we visited was not as nice as all the other pictures that are posted in the TripAdvisor Reviews. We thought we visited the wrong place and double checked the name of the Winery as we parked in the small parking lot and entered a red barn next to the Inn. The entrance to the Winery is not clearly marked, we almost entered the Exit and would not have been able to park going against traffic. Thankfully, the time of day we arrived, there wasn’t many vehicles. The pros of this Winery is the view of Lake of the Ozark. I wish we were able to sit on a patio and enjoy the beautiful view but, no outdoor seating was to be found. The cons of this Winery... was the sign we read upon entering that read $6.00 for 4 Tastings and $10.00 for 4 Tastings w/glass. First of all, if we are required to pay for a small tasting of a particular wine they want to sell, we normally walk away. Every Winery we visit that offers Free tastings, we always leave with a one case minimum. We decided to stay and basically paid $10.00 for the less-than-equivalent of one glass of wine so we can keep the wine glass. My husband and I shared one tasting otherwise this would have costed us $20...to taste wine. Another con ... the Tasting Notes List which is as basic as basic could be. To rookie wine tasters as us, this List is very confusing, especially if your Hostess does not explain each wine. No description of their wines on the List and no explanation from our Hostess of what we were tasting. Each of the wines we tasted were just off compared to what we’ve been tasting along the Lake of the Ozarks Wine Trail. We are Sweet Wine drinkers and nothing here seemed to impress us at this particular Winery. The 4th and final Tasting was their sweetest. Our Hostesses description of this particular wine was, quote “This wine is your Welches Grape Juice”, unquote. We must have offended our Hostess based on her comment as we were leaving. She stated, “If you want sweet wines, go to Florida.” This was July 10th at 4:40 pm in the Tasting Barn.

Awesome little place in the Ozarks! Love the way they renovated an older place and made it a lake treasure. Highly recommend the wine slushie! Yummy appetizers and live music on weekends.
