No matter how hot it gets in Barranquilla there's always a brisk breeze here. The building itself has an interesting history but the big attraction is the fresh air and the stunning view, overlooking the ocean and surrounding towns. The restaurant isn't as good as it used to be but you don't really come here for the food.

After being out my country for so many year I find out this place restored and turn into event restaurant site and you can catch a sunset here on the Atlantic Coast of colombia. Service was great and the amenities also great.

It has a nice view......... but........this place was supposed to be refurbished, it was closed for months and only recently reopened. Well, the reopening party looked like it cost more than the so called renovations. Local politians came for the free fireworks, food, drink and music but no one noticed or talked about the fact that they didn't actually do anything to the site to improve it. Totally corrupt officials stole all the money.
The new paint already looks 15 years old and actually worse than before. They planted a few plants but they have ALL died, the most expensive thing they did was plant about 10 big palm trees - they are all dead now due to lack of care. There isn't even one proper rubbish bin on the grounds. It is full of trash, the trash goes all down the back at the side, the valley there is just a big rubbish dump that is a little out of sight. The safety barrier wasn't fixed and so it is very dangerous for children that are running around. There are NO SAFETY NOTICES. The security guard at the entrance keeps two very agressive dogs, so beware if you come with a dog, it might get ATTACKED - mine did.
It is such a shame, it could be nice, but once again corruption has won and it is a sh*t hole still. Totally dissappointing.

We stayed in a house few meters from this place for 3 nights. Very windy coast with beautiful sunsets. It gets busy with locals late in the afternoon. The castle was closed during the weekdays we were there.

I visited the Castillo for lunch, the bonus was the great view from the castle. I was with locals who told a bit of the story. At the castle there are no information boards or anything like that. Inside the castle there is a restaurant serving real good local food. This is a great place for pictures of the Caribbean sea.

We were going to Puerto Velero and stopped to see the castle. Nice views of the ocean and its cliffs.

This place has the most amazing views to witness a sundown in Barranquilla… the wind, the sea, the air… I didn't get to do much other than just watch the spectacular caribbean sun meet the horizon. Great place to just chill.

It's just an old building with an okay view, nothing special about it. Not even beautiful view. I didn't want to use more time than 15 mins there, they might make good food but this view and place wasn't even worth waiting for food.
