We went post Covid-19, just as things were beginning to open. Reservations are highly recommended on line. You pick a time slot and are allowed 45 minutes to an hour. We choose the first available, 10:00 am. We had plenty of time to enjoy our visit because no one else was scheduled after us. The exhibits are funny, entertaining, confusing, weird, exciting, dizzying, challenging, backwards, puzzling, mind boggling, mind challenging, and awesome. I would go again just to cross the spinning bridge. Our group of 5 had a great time. I'm not sure small children would understand this museum, recommend 10 at least. You have to read instructions for each illusion so as to understand how to do it. The staff does help to explain the more complicated illusions.
The staff and guests are required to wear masks. They do a great job wiping down exhibits after each group.

Union Station is pretty close to the W.W. I Museum. There are some really cool aspects to this place. I love the mirrored hexagon and I now see how Hollywood pulls off this trick of multiple images. This is a fun place to spend 30 min. to an hour. Because of the expense, this might not be the best budget friendly activity for a larger family. However, if you are visiting Kansas City, have a few extra minutes and dollars, you might as well head over and take a picture of you while playing cards with several dopplelgangers!

This is a really fun little place! $15 is a bit much for a museum that takes an hour at most, but really, not crazy overpriced and I don't regret paying it. The staff was so nice and helped us understand some of the illusions we didn't "see" right away. They also took pictures for us. 😊 We had a great time and I'd reccomend it to people of all ages.

Might be more fun for kids. The staff were helpful at taking pictures if asked. They had a small gift shop mostly of wooden brain-teaser puzzles. The biggest problem we had was finding it, as it is located inside Union Station on the basement floor.

This place was really cheesy for us, we were not impressed. There were small rooms set up with props so that you could take your pictures however you wished. Some of the rooms and some of the props were kind of silly and cheesy. I went with my 11 son, he was not enthused. This place is either for a group of young teens that are willing to get downright goofy. Maybe a family with kids 7 and younger. Or maybe a couple, but I would not suggest first free dates, you may feel awkward doing this with people you don’t know well. A couple that has no problem laughing with themselves and at each other. The idea was cool. Would go back to something like this; they just need to think harder about their themes and bring in better props.

The illusions and displays there are pretty cool and trippy. However, it was much smaller than we expected. I think we were able to go through the whole thing in about 30-45 minutes. If you visit Union Station and have some time to spare, it's definitely worth the visit.

Booked an appointment! Got down there ahead of time and still could not find 1 parking spot in the lot, nor the garage or the street. Super busy. No problem, so I tried to reschedule online but the site Would not allow me to complete a reschedule, so o called, and called and called smh at least 20 times and not one person answered the phone… only wanting to inquire about a reschedule! Or my money paid back in full. Very unpleasant experience dealing with a business you cant reach to find a solution…

A colleague and I had a little extra time in Kansas City before catching a plane home. We went to Union Station to look around and stumbled upon the Museum of Illusion. We thoroughly enjoyed it and had a lot of laughs. The young ladies working we're very informative and even came and took pictures of us.

The place was very unique! It was filled with deceiving Illusions. It was extremely interactive and fun for all ages. There are many photo opportunities to remember your visit! There are puzzles for you to solve and some tunnel illusions that you get to walk through! It was a very nice way to spend the morning!

This was a fun find while visiting Union Station. There is actually a lot to see. Some reviewers mentioned it isn't very big for the price, but there are a lot of displays. They just don't require that much room. We had a blast (family of three, including 19 y.o. son). The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!! I recommend it for any age!
