One of our two granddaughters' favorite pastimes has been visiting the zoo in Hanover, Germany, so the KC Zoo was a special treat. Spacious with a perfect choice of walking or taking a ride

If you are visiting the zoo, also check out the Lakeside Nature Center, an animal rehabilitation center located in the same Swope Park area on Gregory Blvd across from the zoo's south entrance drive. There is no charge, donations accepted, and has a number of exhibits regarding local wildlife as well as animals that are currently in rehab. When I... More

We visited here for a day of our Kansas City visit and so glad we did. This zoo is quite large and fantastic. The sky ride above the African part was our favorite. It's well maintained, clean and user friendly. We also enjoyed sitting on the patio of a snack shop and watching the free range kangaroos while munching on... More

This zoo is great! It has tons of animals to see and the exhibits allow for easy viewing of the animals. My kids love coming here! The train, boat, and sky tram all cost extra but are worth it, especially on a hot day or with young kids. This place is great!

Zoo was very clean. I was pleasantly surprised. Bigger than I thought too. Really enjoyed seeing the Kangaroos hopping free.

Definitely a great zoo, but it's one of those that will either reward your fitness, or punish your lack thereof.

I did not have anything planned for our last day in KC. Since my girlfriend and I had ended up at other zoos on our travels this year we decided to keep up the trend. It was a treat. I really enjoyed the exhibits especially the penguins, kangaroos, elephants, and the sky ride for the African exhibits. I cannot tell... More
