As Kansas City's original axe-throwing experience, we are thrilled to introduce you to our premier facility in the downtown Power & Light District. This location offers 13 throwing lanes, a party room, good eats, beer, wine, and an expanded selection of entertainment including darts and yard games. Axe throwing can work up an appetite. Hungry yet? Our lumberjack-inspired menu offers piping hot comfort food that pairs great with dipping sauces made from scratch with fresh ingredients. We're the perfect date spot, family hangout, team-building space, or corporate event venue. Let's throw some axes!

My work hosted an employee party there, renting out the facility, and the disorganization of it all was awful. Instead of everyone's at one table/lane food coming out at once, they were coming out randomly. One person at the table would get food and then be eating while everyone around them was still waiting for their food. Even when my food first game out mine was cold already and the person who got theirs at the same time had fresh hot food. It was such a mess that some of the people didn't even get their food. Some of the employees had an attitude with us. There were people that we had to show others how to throw the axes because employees just disappeared near the lanes after a certain time. I do not recommend renting out the whole facility for a large event, it was just way too unorganized!

Overall good event and fun for our teams.
An area where we would suggest improving processes. We paid for an all-inclusive package, which included 3 beers per person. We ended up not using 45 drinks and the manger would not credit us back for the unused drinks. I would over communicate in advance that parties with unused drinks would not get credit for these. We asked if we could carry these over to another event and were told no.

Basically, the party packages create instances where money is wasted and it’s not something businesses or smart minded teams want to-do. I would change this policy and maximize money spent by consumers.

Do the right thing or customers will not comeback.

Hi Danny - Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to learn about the miscommunication regarding your drink packages, as we genuinely hope to exceed all of your group's expectations! We typically only encourage our business clients to use the drink packages (as low as $12/guest for 3 beers!) if they know they will get the value from the package. While we usually do not refund these packages once they are used during the event, we are still more than willing to work with you on the situation. Isaac should have reached out to essentially credit you the unused value of the packages through a discount on your next event. We apologize if that wasn't clearly communicated but hope to have you all back soon! Wishing you all the best, Jessie

The location was good and day in general was fun but we didn't have a very structured visit. Our axe master seemed to keep disappearing after giving the initial instruction on throwing the axes. We didn't know when to begin, game options or how to play games etc. I had to keep finding him it seemed. Once he showed me where to download games at we had like 30min left of our play time. It wasn't a terrible time but it would have been helpful to have a guide that made sure we were up and running especially since there were people who had never thrown axes before.

$12 per person for 30 mins. We came in with a group of 8 people. 80% of the lanes were wide open, but I was denied when I asked if we could split between 2 lanes. I could understand if the lanes were being used, but if we were to have said that we were two groups, they would have obviously split us. As a result, we got very few throws in. Some training by management on how easy of a fix this is, should be done. I've been to many different axe houses, and this is the first one that has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

With just a little more practice, I could be dangerous! This was my first time to throw an axe and my first few attempts using the suggested two-handed method was ugly. Then, the staff member suggested I try it one-handed and it worked! She would stop by from time to time to offer suggestions to our group of six or just to check in. It was a fun outing and I'm ready to go again.

I liked the facility, however the food service was unacceptable for a group our size. It seems that the kitchen facility can not handle 100+ people. My wife and I pre-ordered our food and we were there 3 1/2 hours and never received our food. We were disappointed...

This was such a fun place to go! The atmosphere was positive and it made you smile just to walk in the door. Our hostess, Whitney, was amazing. She understood this was our first time at Blade & Timber so she put us in a less-crowded lane, away from the two larger (and rowdier) groups. Having a hostess that can improvise to make guests feel more comfortable is a great hostess to have! Once we knew the rules and felt comfortable Whitney let us go on our own, but made sure to stop in and give us pointers on how we could improve our technique. We had a blast and I can't wait to go back again!

Our daughters play for a travel softball team in Indiana and were in KC for nationals. All the adults decided they wanted to do something away from the huge pack of teenage girls that were annoying us. We had a great time. I would totally recommend this place

We ate lunch in the power & light and decided to head over to do axe throwing when the Blade & Timber opened at 2 p.m. because a similar place did not open until 4. To be fair, we did not make a reservation. We arrived about 2:05 and all doors were locked. There was another gentleman trying to get in too and thought we worked there and was disappointed we were not staff. We looked inside and it looked like all the lights were off. It was too chilly to wait. If your website says you open at 2, you may want to open at 2 p.m. We went shopping and went to a different axe throwing place at 4 p.m. and spent over $100 there. You snooze you lose.

This activity is awesome, once you get the hang of it. Once you get into it, it kind of becomes addicting. That said, I was pretty intimidated right up until the very end, but the staff is super friendly and helpful, because they do want to make sure you play safe and enjoy yourself. The apps and food I sampled were excellent. I'll be returning for sure.
