I stayed at the Sheraton on the edge of the Plaza area. Every store and/or restaurant you could possibly want to visit is here. The atmosphere harkens back to the days when all your shopping needs were downtown. During the holidays, all the buildings are outlined with Christmas lights...Apparently a tradition for decades!

I was born and raised in KC so going to the Plaza 40yrs ago is not the same. It's a huge outdoor mall with all kinds of shops and sights to see. There is shopping and wonderful restaurants to choose from. Have seat and read a book by a fountain or have coffee or tea and people watch and relax.

From the world renowned Christmas lights (seriously, have heard it praised in Paris, Seville and Hong Kong!) to lovely music-filled summer evenings, the Plaza is a must see in the Mid-West, in the country. Surrounded by hotels in all price ranges, there's a huge variety of shops and restaurants and beautiful fountains. The modern digital theatre has all the first... More

Needed some much needed "ME" time after a chaotic end of 2016 (which incl 5 deaths & 5 funerals between Thanksgiving & Christmas) so I decided to take in a morning movie at the most reasonably priced Cinemark Theater ($4.50 admission). Nothing rowdy or roughnecked...Just a nice, quiet, clean & peaceful experience! I encountered nothing but genuine friendliness & professionalism from... More

Twenty years ago, the Plaza was a beautiful spot that also had unique shops and locally-owned restaurants. It was the place to be and it was surrounded by lovely little brick and stone apartment buildings. Fast forward to the present and ownership by an out-of-town company. What was once a bastion for locally owned establishments has given way to national... More

I made a point to see many of the fountains around the plaza and was surprised to learn how old some of the statues were. I recommend printing the map and checking them out.

Been to CCP a couple of time. It's nice for what it is, which is basically an upscale walking mall with higher end shops and restaurants. Once you reach that realization, it's not that big a deal.
