My parents live in Lake Ozark, so when my boyfriend and I went down to visit for 2 weeks, we went to visit the state park. A long windy road leads you to a beach and a little shack where you can rent canoes and kayaks. Very beautiful. Went back a couple of times- the bathroom facilities were not in... More

No lifeguard on duty but that's to be expected. Swimming was fun. Water bacteria levels were posted. On return trip bacteria levels were too high and that was also posted. Restrooms were functional and cleaning as were changing units. Shower was not working but could have been because it was not yet camping season Maybe? On the poster board by... More

This is a beautifilly laid out park with many picnic areas and hiking trails. There is a beach area for swimming and playground equipment to entertain the children. There is also a boat launch and dock area.

We had a good time staying at the Outpost cabins at the park, but did more driving than I expected. Maybe if I had looked at the map...:) The cabins are pretty out of the way, so I don't recommend arriving when it is dark as they are a bit hard to find. Anyway, we drove about 25 minutes from... Keeping in mind this is a forest camp ground with rustic cabins the outpost cabin is a great option. The drive is completely paved, no gravel roads expect for the drive way, Parking area. Try to pack light because you'll have a short walk on gravel to the cabin. Cabin on is down hill from the parking area. The bath/shower... More

We did horseback riding here through the Hayburner Ranch. I loved that my five year old could even ride. My kids (ages 9,7, and 5) had such a great time. It was the highlight of their whole vacation and my youngest keeps on asking for a horse. It was such a beautiful trail. I loved the scenery and it was... More

We enjoyed hiking in the park and visiting the Ozark Caves. There are many trails that have lovely views , an old homestead and remnants of a castle.

we stayed at the park in our camper along with friends and their children and campers. We were a rather large group and the kids had plenty of room to ride bikes, swim, play frisbee and some ball. The deer and raccoons were abundant and made it more exciting. The kids enjoyed the program given and we all had a... More

My kids and I visited here to take a hike. The trail was a little difficult to find, but that could've been just me. There was a swimming area and a boat launch, as well. Very pretty. His for all types of families.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park has all sorts of amenities for camping, boating, and relaxing. The park has two free public beaches. We went to #1. It's not really big; and the sand has the normal bits of rock and twigs. It's roped off for swimming so if you have kids it would be a great place to get... More
