We hiked the Lake View Bend trail which took us along the lake and campground. Some of the trail is rocky with elevation changes and some is across flatter terrain. Great hike and easy to follow the color coded trail markers.

Loved this campground though the tent sites were a little too close during a busy weekend. Plenty to do--hiking trails, swim beach, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, playgrounds, etc. Very family friendly. Felt safe and the camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

We stay in the group camp Rising Sun for our family reunion every Labor Day weekend. It's always a great place to be and very affordable if you have a large group.

A great place to visit sensing Mother Nature at her best. There are many hiking trails and much to see, smell and hear. Make sure to bring a camera as you will likely see many picturesque scenes.

My parents live in Lake Ozark, so when my boyfriend and I went down to visit for 2 weeks, we went to visit the state park. A long windy road leads you to a beach and a little shack where you can rent canoes and kayaks. Very beautiful. Went back a couple of times- the bathroom facilities were not in... More

No lifeguard on duty but that's to be expected. Swimming was fun. Water bacteria levels were posted. On return trip bacteria levels were too high and that was also posted. Restrooms were functional and cleaning as were changing units. Shower was not working but could have been because it was not yet camping season Maybe? On the poster board by... More

This is a beautifilly laid out park with many picnic areas and hiking trails. There is a beach area for swimming and playground equipment to entertain the children. There is also a boat launch and dock area.

We had a good time staying at the Outpost cabins at the park, but did more driving than I expected. Maybe if I had looked at the map...:) The cabins are pretty out of the way, so I don't recommend arriving when it is dark as they are a bit hard to find. Anyway, we drove about 25 minutes from... Keeping in mind this is a forest camp ground with rustic cabins the outpost cabin is a great option. The drive is completely paved, no gravel roads expect for the drive way, Parking area. Try to pack light because you'll have a short walk on gravel to the cabin. Cabin on is down hill from the parking area. The bath/shower... More
