Wow , these falls were really moving - we have hiked long distances to view other highly rated falls and this puts them to shame . The only reason that I can think of is a lack of parking.I am sure weekends are tough but on weekdays we only saw two or three other couples walking around .Don’t pass this up !!

We had a baseball tournament in Joplin, and Grand Falls is right on the edge. You can float on a tube from Grand Falls to Zan’s campground. It is a nice easy float with a few rapids. You can also rent tubes from Zan’s campground, drive to Grand Falls, then float back to Zan’s to return the tube. Reasonably priced, and great fun for the kids.

This spot is the perfect place to stop for a dip. It’s a great place for passing through, we were there for a little over an hour but I’m sure you could make a day of it. I read reviews that talked about parking and no signs so I was concerned, but let me assure you that you need no signs you’ll know you’re there when you get there. As for parking, it’s a natural attraction so you park at the side of the road it’s no big deal. The water is cool-cold but it feels amazing once you’re in. Definitely coming back from Saint Louis and bringing more of the family, this trip was just for me and my daughter who is 10 and she loved it!
P.S. There is a street before getting to the falls that can take you to the other side where there are 6 parking spots, you can get out and walk the trail along the water, there were ppl hanging out there in the water as well. Spoke to a lady whose 5yr old kid was in the middle of the river with the current going…made me nervous but she was above water and having fun.

First, there is parking for maybe 3 cars. Stay away if driving an rv. Second, I've seen bigger falls at water treatment plants and I have been many places in this world. I very rarely give a negative review but this one needs it.

The Falls is a very beautiful location in Joplin. The water was nice and so was the scenery. the downside to this location is that it is a popular tourist destination. When my partner and I went to the fall there were so many people crowded in and hardly a place to park. With this huge amount of people, there was trash and cigarettes littered everywhere.

Stopped by to see the falls on our way to Arkansas. A beautiful area where some folks were swimming and others just enjoying the view. Met other folks traveling through. It was a nice break from driving. Nice area for photos. You should stop by!

Pretty spot
Very pleasant waterfall and river scene. Wear good shoes as it’s difficult walking down the trail from the parking area. We’re seniors and really had to watch our step. Great if the city put in a smooth surface walkway.

We stopped to see Grand Falls on our way from Oklahoma City to Effingham IL. Nice little spot to stretch our legs and get some fresh air. The falls are beautiful and bigger than we expected. All the people we encountered were super friendly and the path to the falls was rocky but manageable. The parking area is right next to the trail area and there is room for approximately 10-12 cars.

Nice falls. A little tough to find. Yet, once there, was quiet and peaceful - great place to relax. On the smallish side; yet there's not exactly large elevation changes in SW Missouri.

Went here to kill some time and SOOO glad that we did. This is such a beautiful gem in Joplin. There’s a running trail about a mile away that runs along Shoal Creek and is great to clear the mind and soul. Joplin is lucky to have this place.

A picture of this waterfall came up when I googled McClelland park. Is this where the falls are located? We are only going to be passing through Joplin and were told Mcclelland park is near the hwy and got excited to see the falls

Yes, take the off-ramp from I-44 at the Seneca exit. Turn left, south, and drive about a block. Take a right and follow the street along a creek. You will cross over if the water isn't high and then take a right. You will see it on your right and can drive right up to the Falls.

No charge, but not sure swimming is allowed or not.

How far a walk is it from the parking lot to the falls?
Written July 4, 2015
There is only parking for about 5 cars at the falls. No walking you are right there. Otherwise you will have to park along the street and walk to the falls. Good luck and have fun!
