Julie's shop is great! The store stocks a trove of local produce but I think the highlight is the shelf of Tassie gins - 13 on the shelf today. This is great if you don't have the time to drive around to the 7 distilleries around the island. Knowledgeable and friendly, this was a great little shop!

Thank you Keirin for the lovely review of our little business. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at the Tasting House. The Tasmanian Gin industry continues to grow and we are hoping to add more locally produced gins to our range very soon. Hopefully when you come back to Tasmania again you can pop in and there will be more to taste.

My partner and I recently visited the beautiful village of Richmond and stumbled across the Tasting House on our way to Richmond Bakery. What a pleasant surprise!!! The owner (Julie) was very knowledgeable about the local wines and produce and shared a few stories about Richmond with us which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We then did a wine tasting which features some of the local white wines including riesling, sauvignon blanc, unwooded chardonnay and wooded chardonnay..... absolutely fantastic!!! We purchased a couple of bottles to have with our dinner. We couldn't believe how much information Julie shared with us about the local vineyards, wines, whiskies, produce and the stories about the Richmond Bridge. Thanks Julie and we will be back to see you again soon and will tell all our friends and family to come and see you when they visit Tassie......

What a great experience. You cannot go to Tasmania and not visit the Tasting House in Richmond!!
We visited the Tasting House as part of a private tour with Boutique Wine Tours. We experienced the whiskey and spirits and were blown away how good they were. The owner Julie was fantastic. Service was great and Julie made our day with her knowledge and sense of humor. If you are an avid whiskey drinker, have never tasted whiskey/spirits and do not know where to start OR if you think you do not like whiskey/spirits you need to visit Julie as she has something for everyone. Our whole group bought something, it was so good. This visit was the highlight of our day and we will be recommending this experience to everyone we know visiting Tassie! Julie we will be back to see you on our next visit (hopefully sooner rather than later)

Another little shop that we walked into twice and bought stuff, nothing like the friendly service from the lady who recommended everything and was happy to let us try a few things. I bought some of the bush dust and several sauces that I hadn't seen anywhere else before. The range of alcohol was huge, reasonable prices, small selection of cheese, but we went to the wicked chees factory on their recommendation. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Richmond.

Thank you for your lovely review of the Richmond Tasting House. Management and staff are very proud and passionate when promoting the fantastic Tasmanian produce we stock. As you now we only have a little shop and at times we wish we had three times the space we have to stock more of Tasmania's wonderful products. We hope you enjoyed your time in Richmond and come and visit us again next time you are visiting the village :)

Although she's only there on Saturdays this time of year, Ziek was a great host. The whisky tasting is a very reasonable cost and the range the most extensive I've seen so far in Tasmania. We stuck to Whiskey for the hour or so we were there, but they have wine and other tasting as well. Ziek had an impressive knowledge of the whiskeys, makers and history of Tasmania's industry and was able to give remarkably frank comments on the whisky and stories behind the various brands. I'll go again next time I'm in Tassie and try some others.

Thanks Bruce for your lovely comments! Zeik is certainly a gem and a huge asset to the Richmond Tasting House Tasmania. We love and value our employees and also feedback from our customers about the shop and our employees. We look forward to you returning to us when you are next in Tasmania. Cheers! (PS I will pass this feedback onto Zeik also - I have no doubt she will be very humbled by your comments) :)

We went back a second time as this store seemed to have the best selection in Richmond, the owners were also pleasant to talk to.

the lady was very nice, and she has nice wares. Tasting is a bit hard though, so you just have to trust her on the quality of the cheeses. Which you can.

Jules is amazing. She has a great spirit and has a fun loving vibe. She is knowledgeable about her products for sale. She is lovely, welcoming and well worth taking the time to do some spending and tasting in her cute as a button shop. Julie has crystal tasting glasses for her specialty Tasmanian Vodka, Gin, and Whisky tastings. She made my husband and I feel so welcome while we spent time in her store. It was an extension of her lovely manner and cute personality. We tasted the "number 1" whisky in the world at her store while there, it just happened to be Tasmanian. But there may not be any left for the rest of you…. She can do another order if requested though. I fell in love with the Vodka and purchased a bottle which she is posting to us as we speak. Julie texted me with the Australia Post tracking details and the Vodka is on it's way now. I only wish Julie well in her business and much prosperity on her Richmond shop journey. The only sadness is that I can't repay the favour as I felt that when I left the store that we where friends and that I'd love for Jules to be a guest in my house so that we could bond over our shared love of good things. Fantastic Alcohol, Yummy dips, jams and breads, in no particular order. xoxoxoxox Jodi Foster.

Thanks Jodi for visiting my little shop in April, 2014. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and your husband and no doubt our paths will cross again, hopefully in the near future. Please come and see me again next time you are in Tasmania and I will make time for us to have a quite beverage or two, some fantastic Tasmanian cheeses, dips and a little crusty bread to accompany our mini feast..... I hope by now you and your husband have "tested" that Tasmanian Vodka and have thought of me. If I ever get the chance to come to your part of the world, I will definitely be in touch. Take care!!! Love Jules xxx

Oddly enough this company doesn't have a website? How do I go about finding out about prices and availability for a tour first week of October? Thanks
